so in my estimations we are no better, but you could also say carra was a much better player in 2004 and haman masc is a difficult call

this season is worse than the last during the houllier era. i can't honestly remember a season where we played as badly as we have done this one. plus we all knew houllier would be gone at the end of that season but im not so certain rafa will be gone at the end of this one. the two clowns in charge might opt to keep him for another season....

when it comes to comparing the two teams from 2004 and 2010 then this years team might have more talented players but they're sure as hell not showing it on the pitch...

Have you forgotten we had the likes of Biscan, Traore, Diao and Diouf in our squad 2004?

I'm not the biggest fan of Kuyt, Lucas or Insua but I would take them every day of the week compared to the above.

things are bad now i agree but the year after 2004 that team you named minus owen and murphy plus cisse and alonso won champions league... so REALLY dont get your point......rafa got to go now i do agree but your post dont prove any thing

there's no relevance to this thread at all because you can't just pick and choose players. Go through the entire squad player for player and see what you come up with. I can't be arsed doing it but I believe our squad this year is slightly better than 2004. Our style of play though is totally crap!

I think in Rafas case you need to look at the players that where never signned but where wanted. Simao, Silva, Villa, Alves, Barry, Vidic, and I might be wrong but Bridge as well. so in fairness our team could of well been

dont judge the squad this season due to our tactical genius and crisis with the bloody owners..the squad fooking pushed hard for the title last season..yeah thats right.

When you look at the 2 teams there isn't much to choose but I would still prefer the one we have now. The difference is that they aren't playing and Rafa can't get them playing. Maybe a better comparison would be was Ged better than Rafa?
