Fsg are running the club like a business ..they are businessman 1st and foremost ie lfc is making money for them.... Off the pitch

On the pitch fsg don't give a rats arse abt the team or wat is needed to be successful on it , as long as the club does not get relegated ....fsg will continue to treat the club as a cash cow for their needs only...

As much as it may not seem like it (to some),
they have to care about the 'on-the-pitch' team (as you put it).

I don't think FSG has treated LFC as a cash cow at least so far. I don't recall they have taken money out except maybe for their travels to England which would be justified as Directors expenses should be paid by the company.

They are nothing compared to Sheik Mansoor and Abramovich but they are not forking money out of the club just yet, neither are they investing any of their own money. They are running the club as a business and do not want LFC to go into debt to finance operations which is sound business practice, otherwise they can end up like H&G. Their main objective is a self sustaining club, the rest would only be a bonus.

The only 3 other owners I would have preferred are the City, Chelsea and PSG owners. FSG are the best among the rest IMO. Please don't talk crap, how is LFC their cash cow right now?

LOL!! This thread sums up pretty much everything that's wrong with the modern football fan

You care more about transfers than the actual game itself... definitely won't be seeing you lot on a tactics board that's for sure

To be fair red it is a football forum if you look at the thread the issue is the owners and how people percieve them.

If fsg r not willing to spend 11 to 16m on a player...

How the fack r they planning to spend money on the stadium ??

Lack of investment on signing a quality player last month
Shows fsg lack of commitment to lfc on the pitch

Fsg will do everything they can to stop br getting a top 4 finish ... Why...
They will need to invest at least 50/60/70m in the summer just to compete in the group stages ...

Fsg wana make money without spending any

Show some ambition, because if we're failing to sign 11 million to 16 million players, then we truly are in trouble. It just seems a completely unnecessary gamble to take when our squad is thread bare, big games still to come with our nearest rivals only 2 points adrift of us.

I think we will be profitable this year despite being out of the CL and both Chelsea and City would be making losses despite being in tge CL. The objective of FSG is to have a self sustaining club which I think would be ok in the short term. This strategy is not for the long term, but then, nobody knows for how long they want to be around.

The last two posters are correct the club is in the business of profits not winning trophies

The optimum profitability is probably being 5th or 6th and spending little keeping the wage bill down and milking the large fan base for as many years as they can.

It's been clear for some time that's their plan

To qualify for champions league would incur disprortionate expenditure relative to the revenue / risk algorithm

There is another theory.

All the other big clubs are spending ridiculous amounts on players and wages. LFC have been very busy trying bring in new income outside of gate receipts. The impact of FFP is based on three year accounts, which means those who pay inflated fees and wages now will have less to spend when as predicted prices fall

Simple ecomonics of supply and demand, we are already seeing this in Spain and Italy. I think Liverpool are trying to get the biggest impact from their finances. This maybe not be until next season. Simple fact is man city, PSG and Monaco are already being challenged by local clubs lobbying the FA.

Chelsea had to see mata to United because they needed to balance their spending, this is very new to the premier league. When would Chelsea sell such a good player to a direct rival? Things are changing and FSG better get their transfer and negotiations skills together as we potentially can be a big winner in the next 18mths.
