WBA (A) Arsenal (H) Fulham (A) Swansea (H) Southhampton (A) Sunderland (H) Man U (A) Cardiff (A) Spurs (H) West Ham (A) Man City (H) Norwich (A) Chelsea (H) Palace (A) Newcastle (H)
In my opinion and going on recent years, 72/73 points should be enough to get top 4. To that end, we need 26/27 points from our remaining 15 games.
We need to get wins at home against Swansea, Sunderland and Newcastle (who will have very little to play for). 9 points a must
Away wins at WBA, Fulham, Norwich, Cardiff, West Ham and Crystal Palace are all attainable. 12-15 points to aim for at a minimum
That leaves tough home games against City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs. Spurs is the one we really need to aim to win as its a proper 6 pointer. 4 points min with a win against Spurs, 6 if we don't
Tough away games are against United and Southampton. 2 points min
I think there will be bumps in the road along the way but it looks like we follow all our tough games with winnable games. We just need to ensure that any losses are followed up with a win This season looks quite a different one with top seven clubs relatively closer to each other, so not sure if the usual points tally will earn the same thing. Any bad patch will be costly as recovery will be difficult, consistency on winnable games will be rewarded more than other years I think.

Spurs have the best run in games after ourselves, so they could be dark horses if they can get a result against City, though I’m not writing off Man U. I think Everton’s challenge was severely dented last night. If we can just get at least one quality player in to strengthen we’ll be in with a great shout, I think.

I can see Everton gaining 24-26 points, Tottenham 29-31 and United the same. Means Tottenham are the obstacle standing in our way.

Yeah potentially, They have the players, but Sherwood is a bit of an unknown quantity though, we’ll know a bit more after tonight I feel. Also if we sign someone decent we’ll be a match for most, providing our guy’s can repeat last night’s performance in some of the key games.

Just watched the yesterday's game and think SG is wasted in that position and at his age, will not be able to be as effective every week. Leiva is not good enough, if we could get a top DM, top 4 will be a piece of cake.

Leiva is not good enough, if we could get a top DM, top 4 will be a piece of cake. Agreed vish, it is a real sacrifice playing him there. However Gerrard seemed to inspire and steady our defenders there last night, e.g. Skrtel looked a lot safer as did our full backs. In addition, I feel if Coutinho and Henderson continue to perform along with our front players we can afford to sacrifice Gerrard to that position, and the other question is; can we afford not to sacrifice him to that position? In addition that position allows him to ping those inch perfect passes to SAS. So I’m beginning to warm to the idea, but only if we don’t sign a dedicated, top quality DM. However overall I do agree, the ideal solution is sign a quality DM, and use Gerrard further forward, where he’s a greater threat. He still has the legs for that despite what some might say.

We always do better from February onwards. Who knows what will happen but I think we may surprise a few people.
