Dunno why...people need to lighten up a tad. Everything is so overplayed and dramatised. The guy was at a costume party, dressed up as something that he found funny. No one is asking for everyone to have the same sense of humour, but we should respect eachothers and shouldn't crucify Chris Smalling or jermaine Pennant who did basically the same thing, just because their sense of humour is different to ours.

If he got a chuckle out of it and his fellow party goers enjoyed themselves, then who are we to judge? what's the issue with it?

Horrible horrible things happen in this world, we can't avoid it or change it. But what we should do, in my opinion, is hang on to the good times. Hang on to the laughter and smiles, whatever their source may be. What political correctness is doing is leading to auto censorship, or self-censorship which is the most dangerous kind of censorship that there is.

It is born out of fear..."Oh no, what will others say or think?" and it is the direct opposite of "Freedom of expression or freedom of speech" . We basically constrain our expression out of fear. That won't lead us very far will it? It will however allow us to be controlled as a mass much more easily.

I like to use my brain and think and decide for myself, I don't need the press telling me whether dressing up like a terrorsit is wrong or right and whether i can make a joke based on skin colour or origin with my friends. If my black friends don't get offended and my muslim friends dont get offended, then who the hell are the media to tell me it's wrong?

It's very different when it is clearly a joke and when things are said intentionally in a derogatory manner. How many times has Dunk made jokes about his muslim buddy in his vids? Where were you all then having a go at Dunk for that? Nowhere, but because this is a Man Utd player, all of a sudden it's horrible.

Hypocritical to say the least.

This has nothing to do with political correctness, just bad judgement.
Sure, sh1t happens in life and we need a laugh but to say that its ok to make fun of innocent people being blown up is just ignorant.
Don't see many people dressed as Klu Klux Klan or as Holocaust survivors at fancy dress parties, there's a reason for that, common sense.

Still trying to figure out what this lad has done wrong apart from picking the wrong friends to invite to a private party, people have got offended because some sh1thouse paper has told them they should.

Labeling people as part of this 'PC brigde' simply because they're offended by this and/or understand that others may find it offensive is simply ignorant and immature. You also seem to have suggested that people who are offended by this and/or understand that others may find it offensive have been brainwashed by the media, yet you, in your infinite wisdom are free of such indoctrination. All hail Marko.

In all honesty, I don't care about what Chris Smalling did, he and his actions are insignificant to me and I'm not offended by it, however, it was terrible judgement on his part, being that he's in the 'public eye' and represents a giant footballing institution (which certainly won't be pleased by this) with millions of fans all over the world, some of whom are well within their rights to find this offensive.

Haha KOTK, nice to see someone else but me spending so much time going through old posts etc just to find contradictions to bring people down. And they call us cynical!
