Success is not one single scenario. We would be most successful this season if we win the double. Next best thing is if we win the league and reach the cup final, and so on. On this list, getting a top four finish should certainly rank above winning the cup and finishing outside the top four.

Players were tried today and against a lower league team at home fitness was always going to play a part so a double half time substitution took 10 mins to pay dividends. No point starting strongest team possible and putting it to bed early because you can't take them all off and circumstances change as a match goes on.
We cannot steamroller every team that comes to Anfield and especially not in a cup tie as every team from lower leagues will put up a fight.
Chelsea took over an hour to get past Derby and City had to settle for a draw. Despite that they had very strong teams out that could not get the job done. Well done to BR for recognising players need resting and players need games and he managed to get a good result. Also a player who must have been low on confidence got a goal. All in all another great day.

Not sure what problem is. We won with a weakened team, rested players that needed it. Actually think it's a perfect scenario, tried a few players, got through to next round and some players will be all the fresher for it next week. Result

ok got through aspas scored which is good but the folly of leaving the better players out backfired , surely starting with the main players should have been the way , but instead of the panic move at half time bringing on lucas and coutinho and suarez coming on later leaving liverpool with 15 minutes to play with 10 men due to another injured to agger , yes through but for me weakened teams are a total folly . What does Agger's injury have to do with playing a weakened team? If anything that's evidence we should have played IIori or someone else.
