My guess would be BR hasn't to date thought McLaughlin is good enough defensively to be in the first team. Going forward though he is very good. I would like to see him given a chance myself as he has always impressed me in the under 21's and in pre season last year.
I think those who want a lot of players rested might be disappointed though. I think BR is going to take the FA cup more serious this season after last year. He played a very strong team at home to Notts County in the league cup earlier this year and we still nearly made a hash of it that night.

Rogers must play the best team avalible and must take the cup serious I don't think that our first team players who have been playing regularly for the last few weeks will have the energy to play on Sunday and continue in the league after that.
