The concerns are;
Joe allen is regularly hopelessly outclassed against opposing quality midfielders, Glen Johnson's defending is mostly watching play pass him by then running after a player he should have been marking or tackling, and his attacking contribution consists of picking up the ball at the half way line and cutting in at 45 degrees into a group of Chelsea players, then losing the ball, then watching as the other team run past him, Coutinho and Sterling have poor final pass decision making and waste possession.

The other concern was that even though fatigue and injuries took their toll, there was a glaring lack of application and support for the player on the ball and we struggled to put together more than three or four passes at a time.

If a side is playing 4 games in two weeks, then i would expect that the training would be very light and the backroom staff would be working harder to keep the squad healthy.

to play 4 games in two weeks is not unusual for sides that are also competing in Europe. yes players are rotated depending on the quality and number of the players. but Liverpool had no problem playing 70 games a season in the eighties and often used only 14-16 players all season. midweek games were infact "training sessions" and regular training was light running and six a side games.

My main concerns are that our squad is just too thin, our first team has only one top class player and our manager doesn't look to have enough authority to get what is required from his bosses (I am giving him the benefit of the doubt that he knows what is required to get in the top 4 THIS SEASON and it's not the likes of Aspas, Alberto and Ilori)

Nothing new, this is why I am so [oops] off. Anybody with a little bit of football awareness would have seen that we have a very thin squad back in the summer, but then, managing costs is probably the main objective.

see i dont fully buy into this thing that rodgers is never to blame. its either the squad or its the owners, but never him. poor old brendan.

but the reality is he bought dross that were either loaned out, are warming up the bench or stinking up the midfield.

Agree with this, said it in my earlier post, just check. He is to share some blame too, even if it is for not having balls to stand his views in front of FSG, assuming he is not getting his way through. But for sure, he has bought dross and loaned out players that could be handy with so many injuries and lack of form.

fully agree. he has to take responsibility, if he is enabling fsg instead of fighting them and exposing them then he is part of the problem.

Why can't we compete with Everton in the transfer market who is in the top 4 right now?
