That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

The problem I have with this thread in general Flames is that you see from the position of a fan who wants Liverpool to be the greatest again ignoring that most 'top' managers have no interest in coming to a club fishing in bargain basement more often than not and having to care religiously about line by line accounting.
Rogers has done some exemplary work behind the scenes and looks to deal with FSG and their hybrid Moneyball approach better than most would. Your dinosaurs wouldn't have the skills nor interest in taking this sort of job on and the non-player aspects of it, however good they were as player coaches.
Mourhino no chance, Ancelotti likewise and a Guardiola the same. Klopp maybe and he turned us down flat.
Don't get me wrong I think you ask some decent questions and have some fair opinions in which people give you ridiculous stick for but I just don't see how say a Martinez or Moyes coming in would really change much. None of them are proven to be better than Rogers so what is the answer with the philosophy in place at this point in time?
With our first team 11 fit and on the field I think we can match these teams and that is a massive improvement on where we were and at very little expense that surely has to not only be commended but seen as progress under Brendan Rogers.
That would also appear to be a depth issue rather than anything more which can although slower than we would like surely be addressed over a couple more windows no?

ive only read a few post not all six pages but as I see it our season will not be made by these two games. I mean come on lads, how many team are going to go to city and chelsea and win. We've dropped on a bad run of games. they have to come to anfield yet then I'll judge the team more. I hope we get back to winning ways soon. I dont want a change of manager or board just yet. We've had enough upset in those departments over last few years. I believe we can still push for forth which all we all wanted to see at the beginning of the season isn't it.
dont be an hater, take the banter!

Agree with you except that Martinez has really impressed me, I wish this doesn't last, though not too hopeful. Unless we bring some significant reinforcements, can't see us beating Everton to top 4.

Motivating players to play is not a financial trick. Secondly we have some quality players and certainly a food enough team to Eton or draw the last two games. We can talk up chelsea and City to make ourselves feel better but on the day City were average and we barely trays chelsea we were so busy tripping over ourselves.
I've seen 3rd division sides put up a better fight than we did. On top of that it seems Rodgers had squandered money. Where are these players he bought?
Luis Garcia, He drinks sangria He came from Barca, to bring us Joy He's five foot seven, he's football heaven please don't take my Luis away.

Cannot agree that we had a team to beat City and Chelsea, we were playing with kids on the field and bench, yes anybody can beat anybody on the day, but, it is like miracles, it can happen sometimes, it cannot be expected. That said, BR should take some of the blame of having such a squad, he brought in the likes of Aspas, Alberto and Borini or because he doesn't have the balls to get his agenda through to FSG.

comes to an end. Welcome back to earth.
let me explain my views on Rodgers once again and just clarify my position....once again. Firstly, i have always and will always support liverpool and always want them to win and succeed. always. in fact i would say i want success more than the apologists around here.
As for the BR pattern, its simple. No expectation on the club due to some poor results; we get our act together and follow that with some really impressive football over average to good opposition, the expectation is raised and the pressure comes on, and then we bottle it, and we are back to square one.
Rodgers cannot mentally compete at this level. He hasnt got the character or personality. Thats his team out there, with his signings, and thats his bench, with his signings. The pattern will continue and we will forever be in the europa league or worse. I want us at the top, i want a real manager, i want liverpool to be the best team in the world.
It' simply my opinion. the fact that it provokes abuse, name calling, trolling, etc only suggests that there is an element of truth in what im saying that certain people wont allow themselves to consider. Flames I disagree but respect your opinion. Everyone is aware of your views on Rodgers by now; there is no need to regurgitate it after every loss.

well people are happy to regurgitate their eternal optimism, so why am i limited? plus i have been misquoted and misrepresented many times by detractors so its no harm to re affirm my position.

false dawn really , so in the top 4 mix and being in the top 4 and top of the league many times this season until today isnt enough of very decent progress , i think its not a false dawn is liverpool improving from the dalglish era of waste and the 7th place and squad benitez left liverpool with , its no were near right yet and some of the signings havent worked yet or may never work out , but , rogers has made suarez a better goalscorer and fought to keep him , sturridge will return and will be a major player , coutinho good player , he has improved henderson 10 fold , even jon flanagan has improved , so if that isnt good enough what is ?

Because surely with the performances we have seen this season, people have reason to be optimistic? We've been unfortunate to come up against the two power horses of the league in consecutive fixtures away from home. But flames, credit where it's due (even from the haters), Rodgers has us playing good possession-based football, and is beginning to get the best out of our so called "deadwood". He can only work with what he has, if he had his way - we would have a quality squad in depth as it's clear that some of the players that he targeted such as Douglas Costa and your fella from Shaktar (now at Dortmund), are proving their worth elsewhere. For me the onus is on the owners, not the manager. I think it's still too early to judge Rodgers as a manager of our club to suggest that he isn't good enough.
