they werent a class above on the day and thats the important thing. sick of excuses, we should have come away with something. Sorry but that's a contradiction. Ok I'm [oops] atm but I bet I will wake up in the morning and still see that its a contradiction. You say that man City were a class above yet we should have some away with something? How's that? I'll admit we defo should have got something I'll agree there and all these excuses and reasoning can be put down as if we were really a "title winning side" we would have gotten a point, but I argue we were as good, if not better than City and to say they were a class above is a fabrication.

ming has more than earned his keep this season, unfair criticism even though it was a flap. I'll agree on that, all keepers have them. But it just makes you feel terrible don't it? At least he earned his keep in the Derby.

Let's put things into perspective gents.
There's still a long way to go in the season. Unlike other games in previous seasons a defeat as such would have broken our spirit but this was a watershed performance. We were fearless and we actually carved them open more than any other opponent did in their backyard and to do this without our talismanic captain sturridge and two left backs is more than we hoped for. The teams were very much even for most if the game. Citeh relief was summed up by Kompany when he said we pushed them all the way. No other domestic team performed the way we did in their house this season.
Yes we came away with no points. Few thought we would. But we were close. The bad call for the sterling offside , if it stood, would have put us a goal ahead. What it did was give us confidence and we did score a beautiful goal. So in my mind it would not have mattered unless citeh had scored after that offsite. As for the shirt pulling, both teams did it and could have conceded penalties, it evens out although Skrtel has been doing it for many matches and naturally it is a concern.
Let's give credit when it's due - to both teams. Roll on to Chelsea. I'm interested to see a response. And Brendan was right to defend his players after that game. Putting things in perspective, winning at City would have put us at title contenders level immediately, which is a big ask with the squad we have. The league table doesn't lie, I would just like to stay in the top 4 after 19 games, that's the minimum objective.

I think they were a class (or half a class above), as a mature team they know how to control a game. It was quite obvious as soon as we took the lead, they immediately increased the pressure getting a number of corners scoring from one. Them they easily contained us, breaking on the counter and scored. Yes we had excellent small passing play, but, I just felt they could raise their game at any time, while we were giving our maximum best until exhaustion.

I agree Vish.
Credit to the lads for effort.
But Citeh have the class and maturity,individually and as a team.
so next time we meet we have to do better and knock them off their stride and be lethal in front of goal.
