Not conceding first is the most important thing playing teams like Cardiff. we have struggled in the past to break down teams who can sit back. If we can get the ball into dangerous areas though where Coutinho and Suarez can find space I think we will cause them problems

I agree with you on set pieces. I feel a bit better with Sahko in there but we are still suspect from them

They have very rarely had the opportunity to come play against Liverpool at Anfield in their clubs history, they'll be well up for this game.
there is no way in earth they are going to play open against us especialy with the form Suarez is showing, they will try and keep it tight for as long as possible, they would love a draw.

that's playing into our hands at home.

I think this is more the sort of game where we could miss Gerrard at the moment. His delivery from free kicks and balls into the box have given us the breakthrough in games like this where getting an early goal is vital.

It's an early game so if we beat Cardiff, we go top of the league. For a few hours at least. That should be pretty motivating. And if Arsenal lose or draw vs. Chelsea..then we stay there.

Big chance, this. Hopefully we bulldoze them and Aspas finally gets a run out. A good appearance from him would be nice. Having an option to come off the bench would really help.

I don't think we sat deep at all against Spurs, what were you smoking when we played? Did you watch the game?

In games like this I will do away with one of Allen or Lucas.

There is no need for another defensive midfielder when they are going to park the bus and counter.

I would consider playing Moses who can drive into the penalty box to give us an additional attacking outlet.

Moses in centre mid? We shouldn't be taking Cardiff for granted and having Allen and Lucas provides extra cover for when we have a front unit that could comprise Suarez, coutinho, Sterling, Henderson and Johnson & Flanagan bombing down the flanks

Yeah keep the same team that went out for Tottenham. We attacked well and defended well so nothing needs to be changed imo

Cardiff have not really had a good tonking this season. Malky Mackay will leave after this game whatever the result and will get picked up by WBA. Could be an emotionally charged day for them.

Any win will do. But a win really gives us a chance to go to City and have a right go at them. So important to get the 3 points and have everyone else chasing us at the weekend.
