Haven't really been a regular on this forum this year because I am forever seeing too many knee jerk reactions after one big win or defeat. I know football is ultimately based on results, but it has surprised me how quick some people who are on here change their tone so quickly. It was only a few weeks ago, after the defeat to Hull; I was scrolling down the forum seeing all this depressing sh*te calling for Rodgers head saying that he isn't good enough and our midfield isn't good enough, and so on. Now I revisit the forum after successive victories and suddenly we are going to win/challenge the league, according to a minority on here. I enjoy this forum and I am aware that there are a lot of knowledgeable fans who make great input daily, however it really does irritate me how people can change so their opinion so quickly. I know some fans are hard to please, but look at the position we are in, even after the Hull defeat - we are still miles better than last season. We have seen certain players such as Suarez and Henderson blossom in recent weeks - so what I'm trying to point out is that this is a team that requires patience. I am a big believer in Rodgers and his philosophy, and I adamant that he will bring us to the top in time - but what he doesn't need is fans who get on his back after every defeat. So what I would like to see is a bit more consistency from some of the fans, perhaps when things aren't going so well. Let's get behind our team as we enter the biggest set of Premierships fixtures for us in recent years.
Well you need to allow for different levels of expectations Woolsey, Some are happy to settle for mediocrity, some even happy around mid table, and then there are some who want the team back among the top and challenging. The latter are the ones who will complain most about losing points, when we shouldn’t be losing them to teams well below us such as Hull, etc.
I would count myself among the latter group. I’ve been an LFC fan for many years and We’ve been down and up and coasting in no man’s land during my time, but I’ve never settled for mediocrity, nor do I intend to start now. If we want to be in the top 4 we can’t be dropping points to the Hull’s of the world, and fans have every right to give the owner, manager and players a good tongue lashing any time such a silly mishap occurs, that’s what forums like this is for.
