Was gonna put this in a BR thread but couldn't find a suitable one.
Had BR always not used his bench? I don't get it. Were 3-0 up against 10 men and guys that need game time ( aspas , Moses ) are glued to the bench.
This has been something I've not liked about BR since he got here, he seems very reluctant to make a change during a game. He has a plan that he thinks will work so he'll stick with it till the 85th minute, making no changes , when players are visibly tired. 5 minutes isn't enough for a player to settle and make an impact. Even if were down 2-0 he seems reluctant to make a change.
I think there could be a few reasons
he has no faith in the players on the bench
The players on the bench have not impressed enough during training and he's not going to just hand them minutes, they need to earn them.
He's stubborn and refuses to admit a lineup was wrong and make a change.
He gets to caught up in the game and forgets how long there is to go.
This is not a bashing thread! I love BR think he's doing a marvelous job and will back him till I drop
It's just the one complaint I have with him and it's something well need to address if we make top 4, you can't have your top 11 playing 90 minutes every week. You need to chop and change, give guys rest when we got 3 games in a week and are up 4-0 etc
Anyway just wanted some opinions or if anyone had some info from an interview or something.

Moses and Alberto both came on. It seems like he has no faith in Aspas though.

Yea Alberto has come on a lot.
But Moses came on in the 89 th minute and got two touches. Players need a lot more time than that.
It wasn't just about yesterday though this has bugged me since he got here. You constantly see players are tired and I think majority of people watching would be saying " time for a sub" but it just doesn't come.

I don't remember anyone looking like they needed a rest, the lads were hungry and on fire. We were thrashing Spurs and players such as Allen, Henderson, Lucas and Sterling were all playing really well and could do with a good confidence boost. Why would you make changes if we were playing that well? I agree that putting Moses on for 1 minute is a bit pointless but don't really agree with the rest.

Allen's passing seem to get a bit sloppy at the 75 min mark and Henderson started thrashing his head around while running like he does when he's shattered. Anyway if you read the majority of the post. This wasn't about yesterday. Was a gripe I've had with Rodgers since he began.

Yes, he won't rest players doing well on the pitch even if the game is SUPPOSED to be won already, but he does take out those not performing. The last one I can remember (because I was at the game) is taking Allen out of the derby.

It may just be me picking at straws? Lol I understand playing guys that are playing well and keeping them out there. But with the depth of this squad we can't afford guys doing muscle injuries when their fatigued. It's not that big of an issue now. But if we make top 4 ( which we will ) then it's gonna be an issue.

Someone told me Aspas is not %100 fit and the only reason he's on the bench was because we only have Suarez.

One thing Rodgers was certainly very good at last season was making changes early to change tactics if the original ones weren't working. The main one that I can remember was against Wigan when Suso I think was subbed after 30 odd minutes and it changed the game in our favour completely.

If we were 3-0 up and made changes. There would be people saying "why didn't we go for more?"
Also I doubt any of our players are tired. We only play one game a week. We aren't in Europe and there are no cup games at the minute.
Is love BR to give Alberto, Aspas etc a chance but I know as soon as we do we will end up losing or drawing (hull game) and we will have the doom and gloom again.
Rodgers isn't perfect. But at the minute. He is pretty close.
