what a day to be a liverpool fan

really proud and surprised with what the team achieved today. magnificent.

lucas, allen, sterling, flanagan and especially henderson all stepped up big time today. they were another class.

suarez was suarez as usual but if i had to be brutally honest johnson was the only player who didn't impress.

but who gives a toss when you beat spurs 5-0 at white hart lane

In certain games, Gerrard is immense. Newcastle, United, Everton, and teams like that he punishes with his vision, his free-kicks, and long balls. But for some games, a little bit more pace and energy is required. Allen, Hendo, and Lucas were relentless. Spurs have a lot of quality in the midfield, but they never had a second to breathe. Against Arsenal or Spurs or similar teams, I think that's our best team.

We played well against WH when Allen replaced Lucas. I think the problem before was playing both Gerrard and Lucas. Both sat back too much. Playing one of them with Allen seems to have transformed the team as Allen seems more willing to push forward and link with attack

I think it was an excellent performance, but at the same time we must not get carried away. I was very impressed with our midfield and with the fact Lennon was completely starved of the ball and had no real chance to have a go at Flanno.

Despite the great win, i think we need to cut Flames some slack, he is just staying grounded. The same way i cannot stand all the doom that appears when we lose a game, we shouldn't get too carried away now either.

one game? so west ham, norwich games dont count so, second in the table is all because 1 game is it? third best team in the country for 2013 is all only 1 game is it?

best thing is we haven't even played well this season.west ham and spurs game is us suddenly playing like champions. sturridge gerrard injuries might just have paved the way for a title tilt. hendo becomes superman, sterling and coutinho open up more space for luis. allen suddenly controlling things. come on redmen, haven't been this excited about lfc in 20yrs.

Don't try and trick us with your well reasoned points and logical arguments, that kind of thing doesn't fly around here! You can prove any thing with facts!

On a more serious note though, welcome to Koptalk

no one is getting away. there is a marked increase in euphoria and it is expectedly. There has been many false dawns and thats why people are guarded and waiting to see if the corner has been turned before getting their hopes up.

but we have to admit that the 5-0 win is a statement. how concrete that statement is will be revealed after New Years. Agree that losing to cardiff will send everyone back to earth again and would negate the value of the Spurs win.

win, lose or draw, the most important game is always the next one. and so far, we cant deny we have performed above expectations.

We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.
