Hiya all.

I'd like to know opinions on why it is so many think two left-footed CBs cannot partner effectively. To me, this seems ludicrous; why can two right-footed players/CBs be no problem but two left-footed?-- the answer seems to be "no way". Why? This implies that left-footed players are somehow more limited than right-footed players.
I would think it matters more if those two players compliment one another-- which imo, Agger/Sakho compliment one another well. Agger is great on the ball, passing & bringing it out of defense, & Sakho is big, agile, & great in the air, etc...

Simply put, I see no reason that pairing would be ineffective. Yet, almost everywhere there are comments/articles & the like it seems the overall impression of most fans/pundits is it wouldn't work well.

What's your thoughts?

I cant see any reason it would be worse than two right footers, but I think the ideal would be to have a mix.

With Sakho and Agger, maybe people just think neither of them are suited to playing the RCB position.

I wouldn't mind seeing it tried though. But think we should also try Toure and Sakho. especially against the more physical teams

Not as a CB pairing. They played together when we played all 4 CB's and probably when we played 3 CB's though

No, but I'd think they'd be suited to it. I was a centre half myself, and I never really minded one side or the other. You have to use both feet anyway.

I don't understand what's going on at the back, why hasnt Rodgers picked his centre back pairing. We should try and pay with the same back line as much as possible.

Agger is slower then Flanno. I'm worried Lennon or Townsed will give him a tough time as a fullback. I'd rather have flanno play there, tbh, unless we have Cissoko play. I want to see Sakho/Agger or Sakho Toure as a CB paring though.
