http://www.football365.com/news/21554/9042559/Sturridge-Would-Defy-Rodgers-Again...Funny how utd players are injured for friendlies. Rogers needs to be stronger. Suppose theis is the attitude problem people said about sturridge which we have had no evidence of to date. Sturridge needs a reminder that without rogers and Liverpool he'd still be in the Chelsea reserves and not England's 2nd best striker (rooney) the ungrateful pr1ck

So he wants to play football? Hardly an attitude problem. I think Liverpool fans need to be reminded that it can still be a priveledge to play for your country. He's played through the pain barrier for weeks for LFC so you cant blame him wanting to do the same for England.

I would properly say the same to be honest. As a player Injury or not I want to play. His a footballer and the biggest honour is playing for your country. You can see why other countries do well as I can see the Suarez doing and saying the same thing.

I wouldn’t be applauding a young player for being stupid enough to consistently play through the pain barrier, that can put a very quick end to a promising career. I wish someone could talk a bit of sense into him before it’s too late.

If England was like the other countries not one player would think about not playing. It just seems that England as Team seems like Joke to other Managers and Fans

England are a victim of over expectation, poor performances and a gutter press, pity but that’s where they’re at.

This wont be the first or last time but I would say 90% of players aged 28 and below would/have played through injuries.

The reality of the matter is that club/european football is far more competitive/important than internationals - that's just the way it is. The stakes are too high these days and the players are too valuable for them to go swanning off half way around the world to play in meaningless friendly games against suspect opposition.
