Was at wedding all weekend so didn't see the game until today. I saw on here that he had a really bad game and some comments were very critical. After watching the game I think he did well for his first game as a wing back. People keep forgetting his still very young and learning. He didn't go hiding and kept on attacking playing against MEN twice his size.

Young players will always have dips in form it's how they respond and adapt to it.

He was definitely trying real hard Keefe I'll give him that, but there was only marginal improvement for me in his choice of ball and where he runs.

There are plenty of quick players he needs a damn sight more than that if he is going to make it at this club. At present I see very little else to his game that is working. His age for me is a positive, meaning he should pick things up and kick on quicker.

how good was Messi 8 years ago when he was the same age as Sterling? Now don't get me wrong im not saying sterling will become as good as Messi but he's still 6 years away from being the finished player.

I like Sterling, he's a quality prospect who needs to be coached and protected well and will become a cracking player. However, I thought he played fairly poorly on Saturday, nothing particularly shocking but he just didn't seem to contribute anything. Perhaps it was the position he was playing, I'm not sure.

Sorry but comparing Messi to Sterling is laughable. Both play in different leagues, different positions and different talent. Can't remember Messi playing wing back before.
