The truth is... Shelvey was incredibly lucky on his first goal... he tripped over the ball twice and got two lucky bounces that allowed his final shot. The second goal was poor defending collectively... mainly because we invited them on to us. That was an experimental back four and we did well to come away with a point.

..... who's written him off? If there is an idiot on this thread it's you. Read and read again. Maybe, just maybe you'll learn something about how to defend.

Pr1cks like you make me laugh. I bet you said the same about Borini when he first started...

I thought that sacko played with his heart too much and not with his head. Seemed so keen to get stuck in, this left him exposed. Certainly grew as the game went on. For me the midfield was poor and missed several chances to take the pressure off by keeping possession. Gerrard played at least 5 wasteful long balls in the 2nd half in an effort to get Sturbridge in. Lucas lost his head over a bloody throw in and got a silly booking. Allen should have come on(assuming he was on the bench) to play lots of 5 yard passes.
All that said 10 points and top of the league, yippee!

I started the thread and it was not about idiots writing him off it was reporting on Jamie carragher analysis on sky which I thought would be a good talking point on koptalk given he cost £18m and it was his debut. No one is writing him off he might play great the rest if the season. KP you do seem aggressive this is just a discussion forum about a football team we can and should dscuss whatever we like. These players are paid enough

He'll learn quick enough from blatant mistakes. His positioning for the first goal was awful, he was far too central and lunged out expecting a shot and left himself unbalanced and unable to recover. Players learn far quicker and hopefully better from their mistakes and it will take him time to adapt to the premiership but he has all the attributes to make it

Good analysis. He did look desperate to endear himself to the fans. Or just nervous. Put Toure or Agger next to him and give him a few games.

the worse 1 on pitch has to be aspas he is out of his depth. if he is our best attacking option on the bench we are in trouble.

Thats what I thought too but its now been explained to me by the resident experts that I dont know what I am talking about. Apparently he has not realised the premiership is fast and is playing not where he wants to be. Once these are rectified he is going to be a world beater and comparing to Ibrahimovic would not be unreasonable.

Aspas didn't look very good last night but he came on in difficult circumstances, I though he looked very good against Stoke in the first game. it's still a bit early to judge him.

last night a lot of players were very average, but we still came away with a point, cant complain really.

No it is a bit early but concerned so far in the sense I cant see what he brings to the squad. Looks very ordinary but lets hope I am wrong
