But some players could refuse to play for their country, just depends how important their clubs are to them. Top players for countries that have no chance of doing well in the world cup might decide to miss it e.g. Bale, Ibrahimovich etc Bale? Does Wales has any chance of going through, what have you been smoking? By the way, very few top players refuse to play for their countries in the African Cup of Nations, so don't talk crap to make a point.

I see a lawsuit coming, FIFA voted to have the world cup in Qatar in the summer. If they now decide to change their mind and hold it in the winter all the associations that backed the world cup in Qatar will be livid.
Sepp Blatter might not be able to survive this one. So something good might come of this yet then

Honestly haven't been following whos looking like qualifying so have no idea whether Wales could qualify, was just the 1st name that came to mind as a big name from a team with no chance. Also wasn't trying to make any point, was just suggesting that it was a possibility, wont have much of an effect on me as I wouldn't be going to it either way so I don't really give much of a sh*t. Chill out

This is just a complete [oops] up. There's no way that all the top European leagues can shut down for the World Cup! And if they keep playing, no top team will want to release their players for that time and carry on without them.
Hopefully if they move it to the winter, no top players will go so most teams will have their b sides out there. If a country wants his player to play in the world cup, the leagues cannot do anything against it, this is what happens everytime with the African Cup of Nations, but, it will be a mess Clubs do have a choice and some African players have been held back from the cup of nations. If the league doesn't take a break then no clubs will want to let their players leave. They'll all have to stand together though.

According to FIFA rules clubs have no choice unless it's the player's choice. But if the leagues stand together, they will have a say in the change of date.

As someone living in the Middle East I can tell you all the only reason the gave it to Qatar because of cash paid under the table. Should have been awarded to Australia in my opinion. However, if Blatter and his cronies are so adamant about a WC in the Middle East, then Morocco would be an abvious choice with its nice Mediterrenean climate similar to Italy and Greece. They have good stadiums and have enough time to renovate and built new. They would be ready in 2022. BTW, I am not a Moroccan citizen.

You are right except for Morocco, I thought their climate is closer to Spain may be a bit hotter, which makes it quite hot, but then, the world cup did take place in Spain in 1982. That said, was Morocco even a candidate, they cannot afford to organise a WC, can they?

FIFA vice-president Jim Boyce has appealed to the Premier League to back the decision to switch the 2022 World Cup to the winter. Sepp Blatter, the president of world football's governing body, admitted earlier this week that FIFA may have made "a mistake" in awarding the tournament to Qatar. Matches would have to be played in temperatures of up to 50 degrees if played in the traditional summer time slot, leading to calls for it to be switched to winter. While the European Clubs' Association (ECA) have backed such a move, Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore has opposed it, but Boyce is hoping for a change in stance. Boyce told Sky Sports News: "I would appeal to the Premier League that in the interests of football, they work with FIFA and all the other European associations to try and ensure that this World Cup is played at the right time. "I'm glad to see that there does now appear to be a willingness to sit down and talk about it." Boyce admitted that FIFA delegates didn't know how hot it was going to be when they voted for Qatar.
"I think perhaps FIFA were caught in a bit of a trap," he said. "They found out that this was going to be in severe heat. Hindsight is a wonderful thing."I nearly fell of my chair laughing a this are we supposed to believe that the people voting to select the World Cup didn't research what the temperature would be in June-July, they must think we're all fcking stupid.

Well, Qatar is a joke of a country, playing much much higher than its weight in politics, sport and media. By 2022, there will be no more Qatar. Being Lebanese, I think that I know what I'm talking about, so you'd better believe me.
