I think we all agree about the corruption within Fifa. I just dont understand why so many wont believe it filters down to match fixing too.

How would that even work with a winter WC. Would we start a season early, then have a month or two break, then resume it and finish around June instead of May?

It would affect three seasons, also the winter Olympics will be going on in January 2022 so the world cup wouldn't be able to be played in January. So FIFA thinking that most leagues with a winter break won't be affected too much by a change to winter is just dumb.

This is just a complete [oops] up. There's no way that all the top European leagues can shut down for the World Cup! And if they keep playing, no top team will want to release their players for that time and carry on without them.
Hopefully if they move it to the winter, no top players will go so most teams will have their b sides out there.

But some players could refuse to play for their country, just depends how important their clubs are to them. Top players for countries that have no chance of doing well in the world cup might decide to miss it e.g. Bale, Ibrahimovich etc

I see a lawsuit coming, FIFA voted to have the world cup in Qatar in the summer. If they now decide to change their mind and hold it in the winter all the associations that backed the world cup in Qatar will be livid.
Sepp Blatter might not be able to survive this one.
