Despite his actions during this window, you gotta have a bit of respect for Luis Suarez when our captain comes out and says the following. I trust Steven.

Liverpool have managed to keep hold of striker Luis Suarez barring something extraordinary before now and the close of the transfer window. The Reds rejected two bids from Arsenal for the Uruguay international and the Anfield club's skipper Steven Gerrard has had his say on the 26-year-old's future.

"I didn't ever think Luis would leave - well, not to another English club anyway," says Gerrard. "I don't want to disrespect Arsenal, because they are a fantastic club, but I don't see joining them as being a step forward for Luis."

"There are only really two or three clubs he should leave this football club for if he is taking a step forward. If we don't qualify for the Champions League this season he can go to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich - and he can go with his head held high.

"The one thing I can assure you - it's not about money with Luis Suarez."

I think a deal has already been done in principle for him to leave in the January window or end of this season and Suarez contract has been updated

I have no evidence but my instinct tells me that. Probably more to do with Suarez ambition than money but he won't leave.for less money you can bet that

I am not sure, I think he might go to Real even if they offered him less. Anyway, I don't think he will leave until the end of this season.

as much as I'd like to agree with you, we don't live in a perfect world and if city or another wealthy club offer him triple his wages then I think the out come and his attitude would be different
