The team has played 3 competitive games. and one was a long one against a team that has no technique but far more character. Boo Hoo.
Is this the Mighty Liverpool that ruled English & European Football and played 70 games in 45 weeks every year for more them a decade?
No guts as far as i can see it. Where has the fight gone from this club? Even against Notts County, when Sterling (amongst others) was clearly fouled maliciously at least 6 times, not one of our team stood up to the referee about the illegal challenges. I dont support retalliation or cheating/foul play for that matter, but the lack of objection from our lads showed a lack of character.
I recall that the "Liverpool Way" was that the best training was to play games. And if there were two games per week, then there was one less "regular" training session.
Steven Gerrard doesnt inspire the team as far as i can see. We desperately need a fired up Souness type of leader to direct the troups.
And the manager also needs to show old school anger and strength to fire up the younger players who seem to think playing for liverpool is easy.
God that hurts to type that but i reckon its true.

It looks very likely. It looks as though the committee are trying their best to get a handful of deals sorted before the end of the window. Ilori may be the first of 4/5.
Ilori has been linked with both Chelsea and Spurs (who are both said to rate him highly), so I think it could prove to be a good piece of business.
At £8m, there is nowhere for the kid to hide. Joint most expensive centre-half we've ever signed.
Big suggestions he won't be the only announcement today. Given's future may be sorted today too. Question of whether he wants to play second-string to Mignolet, or potentially start for a championship team.
The Moses deal may also be sorted, though I have an inkling he'll choose regular football at West Brom. I have no information on if we're still in for him I admit though.

I see. That all sounds a little bit to optimistic to me to be honest Jj. When you say "It looks as though the committee are trying", what do you mean by "it looks"?

My sources have suggested that our intent to sign isn't just limited to "Ilori or Sakho" for example. Rodgers made it clear that he was interested in every fairly-priced and talented player the club could bring in... Don't be surprised if we see a couple more departures, and a handful in. I'm being optimistic because that is me! But don't mistake optimism for over-exaggeration.

We brought in Aspas, Toure, Mignolet and Alberto already early on, why would we wait for the final 2 or 3 days to bring in 4 or 5 more new faces as you suggest though? Thats crazy but i hope its true just is very optimistic, alot of people posting now that Llori is due in for a medical too i'd like another winger.

I think the Yarmolenko deal is still on the table. We seem to be keeping things on the down low in terms of progression with deals. Moses has still not moved yet either. We have time.

At least we're not stupid enough to be offering about £10m for De Rossi. What are Utd doing?!

Ilori at 8m is already double his actual price, Given for 5.5m is beyond stupid and Lescott for 7.5m is absurd.
Still no wingers, Defensive midfielders or any other players we actually need.
