Aly Cissokho and Luis Alberto will make their first Liverpool starts in the Capital One Cup second-round tie with Notts County at Anfield on Tuesday evening.


The summer signings are named in a strong starting XI by Brendan Rodgers, which also includes Simon Mignolet, Glen Johnson, Kolo Toure, Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Cissokho, Toure, Wisdom, Johnson, Allen, Gerrard, Alberto, Sterling, Ibe, Sturridge.

Substitutes: Jones, Agger, Aspas, Coutinho, Henderson, Lucas, Borini.

Strong side, get the job done in the first half and then make the changes.

These games are usually harder than they look on paper, but still hoping we give them a good thrashing for a confidence boost for sunday

I'm always worried about injurys in games like this. Lets hope we can come out of this one all fit for Sunday. Can you imagine playing united without Sturridge

Good confidence builder / workout this especially if we get another.

I agree with playing a strong team but with Suarez suspended I would have been very tempted to leave out Sturridge seen as he still isn't fully fit. However if he keeps scoring that can only be a good thing.

Shame that Dagger has had to come on so early!
