I was wondering, looking at our current squad, if you were able to add ANY ex LFC player to this current squad (to improve it) whom would it be and why?

Personally I'm torn between Alonso (so that we could push Gerrard further up the pitch or Fowler because we still require a proper finisher.

Mascherano or Macca. Or Barnes. Any of the three.

just a personal thing but i never liked mascherano. if he had spent as much time running games for us as he did running his mouth, he'd have been twice the player.

on the subject of who i'd like for us. 1) alan hansen 2) gary mc 3) peter beardsley

If i take our starting line up against Villa, I would say, I would keep only Stevie G or even replace him by himself but younger. We have always had better players in each of the other positions compared to what we have today, we were one of the best teams if not the best in the world with a lot of world class players.

But nothing lasts forever Vish. It's a law of nature...that which is born must die. the natural cycle of life is creation, sustenance, destruction.

So we shouldn't be too downcast - it was bound to happen. We should enjoy the memories (we have achieved what others can only dream of)... relish the current challenge and all the hard work and tears it involves... and look forward to the day when our turn comes again.
