How long does it usually take for teams to complete a signing once a transfer fee has been agreed between two clubs? Is there a lot paper work involved other than the medical for the player in question?

Appreciate some feedback!!

You have to take into account a lot of things... that also include agents and players wanting to sit out and have more deals on the table. Very often, the report that a fee has been agreed by the media... is in fact just a report to get other clubs making firm bids and to see where the player stands. Eriksen, for example, I still expect to move away from Ajax... and I don't think the hold-up is a lack of interest. Only deliberation on his part...

If all parties are in agreement, it can all be done in a matter of hours, pending a medical of course.

With Andy Carroll, we bid once, had it rejected; bid again and had it accepted, agreed personal terms, got him through a medical, and completed the signing, all on deadline day.

The more time you have to negotiate the more time you take to negotiate.
