Both good keepers, both better than Reina? One was cheaper & BR is buying players with a certain character, Mignolet is supposed to be very intelligent and down to earth. Rodgers and the club seem to be profiling players character before buying these days.

How many appearances is that? I make it 1 competitive appearance... Yes indeed. 90 minutes is as much time as we need to assess him. OUT OUT OUT!!!  BLOODY lucky to save that penaly too don't you think? No skill involved at all in fact.

1 premier league game, 1 clean sheet, and a penalty save, and people are banging on about buying the wrong goalie? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bergovic let a goal in, didn't he? Mignolet had several good saves and saved his penalty. I am already more confident in him than I was in Pepe all last year.

Seriously though... I can't quite believe that after seeing Liverpool attack for 75 mins of a game, and then defend for 15, that you can then judge the talent accordingly. I mean... with more shots on goals a keeper can settle quicker into a game. I thought Begovic played really well! But I thought Mignolet was as impressive in everything but his command of the area...

Mignolet had several good saves and saved his penalty. I am already more confident in him than I was in Pepe all last year. I couldn't possibly comment on that statement of fact^^^^

I have to agree Growler! and if im honest im really disappointed with some fans on here.. How can anyone over look Ben Foster, He was unbeatable for that 1 match last season when we played West Brom.. Id have taken the 9m from Mingolet and the 12-15m people are saying Begovic is worth and just put in a 25m bit for Foster!:D
