I thought Woy would have been suited for England, yet my opinion I think he gets it wrong... I dont have the answers but I cannot understand his thought process's...
We still cannot pass the ball, hold possesion, the scots in the accurate rankings (this is sarcastic), are 130ish, Eng are supposed to be in the top 15.... we should in theory banging in a couple of clear goals, control the match.
We (eng), must have a Def Mid somewhere?.. Not scot Parker..how about J Milner if he can stay positionally disaplined..He got pace, strong, energy -can he tackle?
Stevie took up that role, as if he is Lothar Matthus (not having a pop at Stevie), he has qualities that are better as a CM without the out and out DM responsibilities... Whilshire is a yes as a rule, Rooney, but the wings...
Ash Young for me is a selfish player not a team player in the Eng team, cant say about when he plays for the Mancs as dont watch em..
we were going throught the centre last night, the scots packed it.. when we went wider earlier (in play) in the second half then come inside it worked..
Could Woy not see that after 20 mins, Welbeck had an opportunity to play Theo in in the first 6 mins, but Welbeck thought I'd run this for 20m then pass, Theo had 3 round him instead of the 30m of space to run into 5 sec's earlier..

I thought it was a pretty good, attacking selection. Rooney, Welbeck, Walcott, Gerrard, Wilshere and Cleverley are all mainly attacking minded players with Wilsheere the exception maybe. We should have put a few more past Scotland, but that's not Roy's fault is it? He picked the strongest team he could under the circumstances and imo, could only be noticeably strengthened by replacing Welbeck with Sturridge.
I think our problem is out formation. I've never seen us comfortably play in a formation that works. 4-3-3/4-5-1 is becoming the popular choice among a lot of teams now, maybe that's why Roy went with it, most players are used to it.
I still put it down the the fact England is not a 'team' in the same way Spain & Germany are- we don't have players that play together that often which affects our fluidity.
Not Roy's fault at all imo.

I agree with your view, but we didnt look that good with the likes of Erricson and Cappello, I would like to see J milner in the DM role (if he can do it), then Stevie and Whilshire (injury free), Rooney, Sturridge (got 2 last night), Theo all roaming between the three of them..
It would be an interesting look, Milner has the energy and pace for the middle role, if he can tackle as well might be the answer, not sure who else for DM role..
Maybe there is someone for DM role, who is not part of the A list players, yet give them the Stevies etc around them, they may thrive..

To be honest with you I can't stand the Rep team I call it the rep team because for me they don't represent the Country England but instead the English F.A. As they were there emblem and not the countries St George Cross. I would enjoy the World Cup next year so much better if the Rep side never qualified as I can't stand the over hype and two face Liverpool fans supporting them. If you are asking about what team would be best I would not hesitate to say I would replace Gerrard with Wiltshire and play a good defensive midfielder behind him...

I'm on the basis Stevie is the Capt, you can argue without LFC glasses on your correct..
Woy has got HUGE problem.. It's the FA 150 year Celebration, it's a WC season, he needs to Qualify, or the richest football revenue country celebrations are a disaster..
As they showed with Pearce he will be gone...

Wouldn't it be fair to say that you would also enjoy watching the Premiership far more if Liverpool were also not involved as you seem to view everything about the club and it's players with disdain?

No my keys are a ok - W R, I had repect for him at Fulham, and when he was abroad inter etc, he Roy I assume is/was with a certain amount of inteligence...
Yet We all (lfc fans), knew it wasnt a fit... He Roy or Woy cause of the decisions he made lost my respect, first one was to jion LFC..
I did think that he would make/extract and motivate an Eng side, unless the FA dictate some/most of the team/squad selections,he still confounds me.. That is my reasons correct or not..
More than happy to admit error if someone can furnish me with info over looked or not known..

Roy ha sconsistently found himself to be tactically inept. You want a team of 4-4-2, difficult to beat and have less than 40% posession and score via set piece or counter attack then Roy is your man. He takes average players and gets them organised.
evry time he has had good players he has failed. he has a win % average of 35% which is mid table. Very comfortable but unlikely to do anything - perfect England manager I say.

england have failed under every manager no matter who they are.
You put all your hopes on 1 player, the media goes crazy, your players look scared rather than ambitious. Plus you don't really have many really good players. germany, spain have maybe 20 attacking players each that would walk into ur team.
