Luis Alberto....£6,800,000
Iago Aspas......£7,000,000
Kolo Toure.......Free
Simon Mignolet..£9,000,000

SPENT...........£22.8 million

Andrew Carrol...£15,000,000 + £2m bonus related
Jonjo Shelvey...£5,000,000
Jay Spearing....£1,800,000 (Could be up to £3m)

Recieved........£21.8 million

Add the Reina loan fee and we could be about even.

The more I think about it the more I believe the Coutinho and Sturridge was bought using this windows budget (or at least against Carrolls sale). I can only wait and see but I was at least expecting £20m net spend.

Was thinking along the £20 million line myself. Seem to remember a quote at end of season quoting a £20 mill kitty plus any money from sales, hope its still there to spend.

So if King Ken spends 20 million on Downing, 20 million on Henderson and 8 million on Charlie Adam but gets 50 million back on Torres it means King Ken is a good manager because he's 2 million NET spent in credit, enough said and here is why Net spent us a load of rubbish...

It doesn't happen often, but MICK, what a fantastic post! I agree 1 million percent! Net spend is rubbish, it is not a good sign of the quality of the transfers at all. Some real quality players are available for much lower fees than some very average players. Carroll and ddowning being prime examples, also Ashley Young who is just as bad as Downing.

As I said, it doesn't happen often, but I think Mick is SPOT ON!

I don't think so, net spend is the right measure and this is why IMO. Let's say we sold all our 11 first team players for 120m, Suarez 40, Gerrard 8, Agger 12, Mignolet 10, and the rest for 50m and gave BR 120m to spend. That would be a record budget, but, would it be fair to ask him to win the league because he had the highest tranfer budget? Definitely not as we would surely end up with a weaker team even if he has the highest budget to spend. Mick is not SPON ON, sorry.

His problem is that he thinks that most of your posts are rubbish, can't blame him honestly.

20 million net spend sounds about the plan given the bids for mkhitarwhatever and Costa.

Think we are running out of options though. Would be surprised to see another signing after this french left back
