Being labelled green is being labelled a rookie Hendo - no biggie, everyone starts off there.

the current system used to work just fine. that was back when no one even knew what the notify button did, even though it was there all along.

what happened was people got smarmy and smart and instead of just calling people out and taking it on the chin when given, they used the AUP system to manipulate other users and then trap them. the endless "lets see who cracks first" technique of getting at each other has killed the place because people spend far to much time fighting petty battles as opposed to just man-ning up and getting on with it.

these days there's too many whinge bags, cry babies and people who cant take any kind of joke whatsoever. i do agree that there should be a line, but it has been drawn far to close. i used to get plums on here saying all kinds of garbage about me, i used to joke it off, get a bit of mileage out of it and then they eventually got canned. now if you say anything about "anyone" it is deemed as an attack, a disgrace, abuse, etc etc. even when it is about people or players who are clearly not even on the forum. if this kind of mentality was brought down the pub or to your local footie team then no one would go anymore because the personality of it all has been murdered by a bunch of jobsworths.

the great irony of this post? someone will hit notify with the complaint "he is calling forum users names". its time some people had a look in their underwear and found their testicles again.

I think you'll find it was Dunk who encouraged everyone to use the notify button - I've seen him post about it numerous times.
Dunk created the tittle tattle culture that the mods have to deal with.
