Just reading through some of the exchanges last night and gutted to see Wakka quitting as a moderator.
Like many others this is the only LFC site I use and it is sad to see it gradually falling apart.
Stan is correct when he says that regular users are falling away and it's becoming more and more difficult to have a sensible debate without it being hijacked and destroyed by the usual suspect.
Subtle references to tourists, blind faithers, OOTers and referring to players as vile rats, are all made to provoke users and not to encourage debate.
That is only my opinion but I have seen this user banned several times and the pattern is the same. Granted this time he has been a bit more subtle but the overall objective is the same. Wind regular users up to the point were they blow a fuse and end up getting banned.
This is a site for fans of Liverpool Football Club and it provides a great service. It is very sad to see one user ruining that for everyone else.
So what do we do fellow Koptalkers? Discuss, and please keep it sensible, calm and reasoned, otherwise we are letting him win again.

anybody looking at this site and forum some times would think there are two opposing fans forums here it gets heated but surly the next day it can be back to normal red to red Well sixties I know we all have different views and it would be a very boring site if we all agreed but it is getting very very nasty recently.

he's learned how not to get banned this time, but he's still destroying nearly every thread! As soon as i see that he's joined the conversation i stop reading. This must be happening with other users to.
This forum is falling apart because of one or two people and if it continues there will be no one left.
why cant someone that's been banned more than a set no. of times have their IP blocked?

Yeah for me, the problems lie in the lack of discussion. It often comes across less as a debate, or more of a "whoever objects best wins." I've made mistakes, and comments I maybe shouldn't have said, but I think people can just be on here to bait people. It shouldn't be on the MODs to always sort these petulant arguments out. We have an obligation as posters, I suppose, to just keep things on topic. I'd quite like to see a rating added to each comment. A la our +1 system. Rather than just clicking it to disagree, it can act as an appropriateness counter. It'll mean, when someone does notify of someone else, the MOD could look at the lowest ranked comments as first port of call to decide what the most appropriate action is. It'll be much easier to pick out which people are trying to wind people up or insult them, and those that just have an alternative opinion.

It's a pity things seemed to have turned nasty recently because for a few weeks people treated everyone with a bit of respect and accepted although we all support the same team we all agree and disagree. I am disapointed one of the moderators apparantly left but having said that with power come greater responsibility and you simply can't swear at people in an offensive way like that no matter how much you don't agree with a person post. I get my fair share of stick with my views and get accused of being a WUM which is false, I just don't feel good about the Club in this day and age and feel its my right to express it on a Liverpool forum as long as I stay within the rules which I try to. I am not the only person to get unfairly slated, stanley recently got reported for making a genuine post about an increase in ticket prices and faz is always on the receiving end and gets reported all in my opinion unfair as like myself we just make genuine points. Anyway that's my take on things, it's far easier just to ignore a post if you don't like or agree with it than call names or accuse people of being a WUM.

How about another approach I agree with Shaggy this forum is falling apart and its because of us.
If we are honest we are all guilty at some point.
My own view is the notify button is abused too much and this was the reason Flames gave. I did give a suggestion to dunk to raise the bar on notify to cover things such as abuse and racisim. Wakka did say gogshite but too be fair he was at the end of his thether it was not like him.
But otherwise I just dont know its a shame as once this was the top LFC forum. Mich Eire is naughty but its not just him is it and we all must take our share of the blame including me.

stanley your clever enough you can see what's going on here, it's a blatent witchunt against me just because alot of people don't agree with my views as they see them as negative, some on here should be ashamed of themselves, there was even a topic set up just about me recently which says it all. If its not me there ganging up on its you or faz, stanley all because you post your opinions which are not shared by the majority, its a forum why cant we post our views as long as we stay within the forum rules.

Problem is the thread becomes destroyed and goes off topic. Ignoring a poster isn't going to avoid it, unless everyone ignored the post. Maybe a thumbs up / down, and it auto-hides at a certain ratio.
