I think the only reason the match going fans get ripped off is because of liverpool fans expectations to be able to compete with teams like Man U,chelsea (which without Romans money we could), man city same goes and Arsenal. The club are trying to maximise all revenue from all sources so the gap is as small as possible.
If the stadium expansion does happen then we'll make the majority of match day money from corporate seating, meaning the club will be able to make some sections available at cheaper prices. In the mean time the situation will stay the same or get worse for the match going fans.
The only real solution is to hope that the redevelopment goes through.

The truth is match going fans contribute most of the direct supporter generated revenue. These pictures of big crowds in far away places are really just an advertisement hardly any revenue is contributed. The problem is the few who are contributing are being bled dry and slowly deserting the club and I am in this category and many friends have long since gone that way. The future is uncertain and the club needs to take a long look at how it generates revenue and spread it more evenly otherwise there won't be a club to support in 20 years

The world wide fan base do not directly contribute to the club, but by extension without having the huge fan base we would not be able to command the big sponsorship deal that we have.
I guess my point is we need everyone.

I guess my point is we need everyone. Agreed and yes you are right but you have missed the point. The model we have now of old fans from decades of following the club paying the bulk of the fan generated revenue is unsustainable long term. Rather than the crowds in Indonesia I would be more comforted to see them in warrington or bolton or Liverpool. But that side is waning. So where will the fan revenue come from in future is my question >

Without the old wide fan base, we wouldn't have the likes of Standard, Warrior and Sky giving us the big bucks.
When you look at the crowds from Jakarta, Melbourne and Thailand, you see a lot of red shirts, and a lot of those red shirts are warrior. If you assume that 25% of the red shirts are warrior from Jikarta and Melbourne then you have a few million. That's only from 2 countries, what would that be from the whole global fan base?

I guess my point is we need everyone. how has big sponsorship deals helped us exactly when we are the worst we have been both on and off the pitch for over 40 years. We sign these so called big sponsorship deals with Warrior and Standard Charter yet find ourselves further away from a League title and Champions League than ever before, we can no longer attract the top players, our top players want out, our wage bill needs reducing, we operated at a loss last season, we are 80 million pound in Debt after only a few years ago having it wiped out when we were bought and now the club had increased prices for match going fans to over 50 quid a game. I put on the telly and see all these fans all over the world, hear about this global fanbase buying shirts then get told how much of a big club we are and then look at the league table every season and see us battling with the likes of Everton, Fulham and West Brom every season. Something just doesn't add up somewhere.

LFC has been mismanaged and that doesn't have anything to do with the fanbase, local or global, capiche?

No Not Really, because at the end of the day it's either we benefit from the global fanbase or we don't and as it stands we don't, mismanagement makes no difference as we are what we are.

Just saying you are a fan does not bring in more revenues. Buying a match ticket or buying official merchandise does increase the club revenues. Sky or whatever indirectly finds its way to the club.
But if you want to support the club do the former

But if you want to support the club do the former yes I agree stanley however good luck with trying to convince some on here with that theory, I think they are somehow under the impression the club thinks of us all the same fans.
