Was anyone else impressed with Assaidi yesterday? showed great pace on the break for the second goal and then was calm headed and selfless enough just to square to Sterling for the tap in. He also made some good runs and took it round players.
I was all for selling him and getting our money back, but I think he could have a part to play if he gets a decent chance I think Assaidi is quality. He wasn't quite ready last year, maybe, but I want him to get a chance. Did well in Europe and seems to have guile and pace to burn. He's an option. I'd like to see us keep him.

Am not really bothered about results as its all about gaining fitness however I would be concerned if we lost our final two friendlies as they would be games of fine tuning, if we were to play poorly in them or get best the concern would be were still not ready for Stoke.

I dunno, I think all pre season games are basically worthless in terms of results. At the end of the day, win against Stoke = happy days lose to Stoke = sh!t start

I think a loss to them is a lot less likely than a draw. If we lose to them, that's a terrible start.

It's true though, Red ( ) it's all just pre season and fitness, stretching the legs and all that... but a loss against minnows like the Indonesian outfit doesn't sit well.. ... god knows we've had some bloody average, stale pre season results in our recent past..

No, I realise that Faz.
My mistake, what I should have written was "had we lost against the Indo minnows..."

Ill be at the game in Dublin which I think is our last preseason game, I'd hope and expect us to be flying by then....if not well another season of mediocrity awaits. To have any chance this season we need to get off to a flyer

The preston game was a flyer, I thought. The heat and humidity in this region of the world is insane. Trying run or play football in it (I know from experience!) is five times harder than it is in England, and ten times as draining.
