No Mick, i think you are now just looking for an excuse to try and rationalize your argument and are pulling at straws. Firstly, the gap between us and Everton is huge, whether you like to admit it or not, we are by far the bigger club and despite 2 relatively poor seasons, are a team with far better quality and durability. We are leap years ahead of Everton in the big picture. They have just hired a manager who has been struggling in the relegation zone for a few years, they lost Moyes, will probably lose Fellaini and Baines too. So yes, whilst we are strengthening and might lose Suarez, but to us that is nothing compared to them losing Fellaini and Baines.

How is the gap between Everton huge when it was just four points or so between us for the last two seasons, how on earth can you say the gap between us is leap years ahead, absolutely astounding. The gap between Everton and Liverpool will be nip and tuck again next season, the odds of Liverpool at 33/1 and Everton at 500/1 to win the league make a mockery about bookies are good judges.

Actually the debate is not about the bookies, it is about your judgement of the clubs relative chances to succeed. I simply mentioned what you have said. I believe i am allowed to do that as it supports my views and points. We are miles ahead of Everton, we had 2 transitional seasons, we are improving constantly. Everton is only. Now entering their transitional phase and will be left trailing far behind Liverpool football club in my opinion, and the proffessional odd makers seem to agree with me and their prognosis supports my views.

everton have a better team than we do. they have a problem if martinez is not able to get them as solid and hard working as moyes did. if he can they will finish above us .

There is nothing between the two Clubs now, this coming season we have about as much chance of finishing above them as they have of finishing above us, player for player is just as close you may get 6 of our players in there team or vice versa. The point about the odds was made because somebody used the bookies odds as a judgement that they are somehow very Knowlegable yet at the same time they make us 33/1 to win the league and the next best team Everton 500/1 which makes it look we are a much, much stronger team than Everton which as we all know is simply not the case. The bookies odds are distorted because so many Liverpool fans have a flutter on them and if the unthinkable ever happend then the bookies would probably go out of business of they gave the correct odds which would be around about the same as Everton's at 500/1. I just hope this clears it all up.

Everton have had a slightly better team than us for the past two seasons but that's not been hard has it? This is the worst Liverpool team i can remember in my 55 years.
However club wise Everton are not in the same planet as Liverpool as any look at the accounts will tell you.

I just hope this clears it all up. Firstly, us underperforming for 2 transitional seasons and Everton overperforming does not make them a team of higher quality. Secondly, by your logic, if the bookies drop theodds due to the number of bets being placed, which they do, that would indicate that Liverpool has a fanbase aproximately 15 times bigger than Evertons. That fact alone should indicate to you what the real relationship is beetween the clubs and which club is a bigger club. Also I dont know whether you have any proof of these 500 to 1 odds on Everton or whether you are making them up to support your argument, but from what I have seen, Everton are 250 to 1, which is half of what you have said, and is very realistic if you compare their odds to ours. If you need proof I will supply it but you can take a look at bet365 if you wish. It makes no sense to that someone can say they have a better chance than us. Also, it is not true that Everton have a better team, yes they outperformed us, but not because they had a better team. I believe it was rather due to a transitional period, changing managers, lack of stability etc. However, we are now at a stage where we have stability at the club and long may it continue. Mark my words we will finish at least 3 or 4 places above Everton in the upcoming season, probably more than that. Also, if you do have a link for those odds of 500 to 1 I would appreciate it so I could compare other odds too.

Just looked at skybet. They have liverpool 28/1, then tottenham 33/1, then everton 300/1 followed by newcastle 1000/1.
