Your assuming we will finish 7th and have a cup.
What if ignoring the cups actually achieved 4th, would you still take 7th and the cup?

What ifs are pointless, but I believe that because of no europe, the games are played during a season break which would not disrupt the recovery cycle then yes, we play a strong team.

I just prefer a defeat in a cup than one in the league. I get over cup disappointments easier.

If I had to choose I would choose fourth place.

But I am kinda hoping we are not so bad as we can't do both.

Or are we that bad ?

Football can be unpredictable. I remember Evans first season we were on fire. It might click for Rodgers stranger things have happened.

stanley I would always take a cup over fourth place, no point in just appearing in the champions league and that's all we would ever do. People think playing in the champions league is the be all and end all yet it hasn't done Arsenal any good who have played in it for the last 16 years and they have been trophyless for nearly 7 years. Trophies is what football is all about, you can't go around the City in an open top bus with a fourth place now can you.

I was trying to lull someone into it an Mick Eire obliged.
That way of thinking is so negative. It is suggesting that you would settle for less not the best.

The game is financially driven. The Champions league is the promised land because it is a club for the haves.
4th place would offer £20 million extra revenue to strengthen the team. With a stronger team you can then have a better chance at winning things, such as cups. Something is better than nothing but i'd not settle for a low finish just to win a cup. I want to see a great team that wins 3 cups in a season.
