With Carra gone, we need a new vice-captain, and I'm curious to see who you guys think it will/should be. My vote would go to Danny Agger right now.
If Suarez stays, however, I think we should give it to him. Despite the obvious personality problems, he plays his heart and soul out on the pitch, and he leads by example (in terms of desire and work ethic). He is obviously one of the leaders on the team, and when he was Ajax's captain, his behavior and maturity improved. Lucas and Reina might be other decent shouts.
Thoughts?

agree 100%. He is a natural leader and not afraid to bark when necessary. Probably learned a lot from Carra.

Think it might go to Pepe if he stays or perhaps Kolo Toure, I would think Johnson and Agger would be in with a shout as would Lucas.
Just can't see it going to Suarez after his flirtation with Madrid.

Suarez? Haha! Then we might as well introduce a new greeting procedure where the players line up and walk past the other team and give them all a bite instead of a hand shake!

I cant see Pepe has it in him. And he regularly has quiet spells when he seems to lose concentration. Johnson is the same and is definitely not leadership material. I can see Toure barking out orders, but he is a recent addition.

I think Agger would be the best. Certainly the most loyal, and he's also captain for Denmark. I have a soft spot for the Dane.
I think the bite is more silly than anything. For some reason everyone seems to remember Zidane's headbutt quite fondly, but I'm sure that was a lot more harmful. Suarez has his issues, but he is one of our leaders.
Johnson might be a good idea. English and consistently one of our better players over the past couple years. Toure is too new, though. It wouldn't be fair.

Captainship is all about leadership and setting a good example for the rest of the team. You also represent the club.
With Suarez' reputation I can't see how he could ever become the captain of a LFC team. It doesn't matter how hard he tries out on the field and that he has a desire to win no matter what. His antics are too harmful for the club IMO. Diving, rolling around on the pitch, biting, yelling at referees and team mates. Those are not deeds of a good captain. Can you imagine SG behaving like that acting as a captain for LFC?

I didn't say captain, I said vice-captain. I still think think he is our bigest leader other than Gerrard and that's why I mentioned him. In terms of his behavior, no, he does not have a perfect record. I think Agger is better suited, but, it might prompt him to stay, which I think we should do all in our power to do, and it reaped incredible results at Ajax when he was made captain. He is a flawed leader, yes, but an important one.
That said, Dagger had and still has my vote.
