Difference this season is Suarez might be about to Vanish, so Cillit Bang and our chances are gone, unless of course we have a replacement lined up to rival Van Persils efforts last season that helped Utd clean up wink

Washing powder jokes aside you have a point, we scored the highest number of goals by a team finishing outside the top 4 in the premier league era wasn't it. There were a few games we really struggled to break down an organised defence though and it would have been good to have an alternate option, especially from set pieces like corners which often seemed to go to waste.
so the answer is dont give the new signings or sturridge or courtihio a chance and buy a big fella and lump the ball.

Not at all, I am pleased with the business so far with both Aspas and Luis Alberto looking promising and will be excited to see plan A of skilful, versatile forwards interchanging positions. I think we will score a lot of goals that way, there will however inevitably be some games where a different option would be useful.

I don't think it needs to be a big lump target man up front though - C. Ronaldo has scored some of the best headed goals I've seen by timing his leap well so its about technique ASD well as physical size, just think about Peter Crouch!

I think we need a commanding centre back to deal with the aerial bombardment that comes in certain games (Coates and Skrtel both struggled in the cup game last season against high balls into the box and it isn't Agger's strong point either) so they could also be a threat in attacking positions.

That leaves us with a big problem - lack of height or aerial threat. How many times have we seen us putting aerial crosses in as Plan B, when opponents park the bus, but with no aerial threat whatsoever?

Someone like Mario gomez, who's available at 15m, will greatly balance things up.

I can just foresee us dropping points this season because we have no plan B or attackers who can head the ball.

And we're going to score less than 5 goals from corners. You heard it here first.
had no Ariel threat last season and scored loads .

Only against the mid to low table teams, we still struggle against the quality sides. We need an injection of higher quality players if we are to compete with the best.

If you want a big guy that can head them in and has aerial power, what about Gomis from Lyon? He can even move a little bit, too.

To be fair our balls into the box especially from corners aren't the greatest so even if we had any heading experts it wouldn't make that much difference. Our corners seem to be either over-hit or under-hit and rarely on target.

Either way even if you are short it doesn't mean you can't win headers. I seem to recall a certain Argentinian shortie beating a goalkeeper to the ball even though the keeper was a good 8 inches taller.

I don't think he headed the ball though, he rather handled it.
