Well Roy was the manager at the time who along with ayre brokered the deal , now if you don't like the thought if that well that's up to you but its there. It's common knowledge around my way that it was Benitez - he went after Suarez to partner Torres who said that we need more quality players or he'd consider his future. Torres was happy that RB had started the ball rolling with Suarez but then roy arrived and the 'quality players' that were being brought in to keep torres happy were the likes Poulsen & Konchesky. The final nail in the coffin for Torres was when Dalglish came back. Had we stuck with Benitez we'd have suarez & torres upfront and there would have been no carroll, downing, henderson, adam, koncheksy, poulsen or joe cole. If you don't like it I can't help you, 'but it's there'. Torres never played for Dalglish and to say he left because of KD is complete fantasy just like saying it was Rafa who brought in Suarez....7 months after he left. I know you love RB, even saying that he is better than Mourinho (at least Inter, Chelsea and Real Madrid decision makers think otherwise and I would assume they know better than you), but, sometimes it's just too much. It was dalglish that sold Torres! As for the RB comments - he won things at both inter and chelsea. As for madrid, I'm not even sure why you have mentioned them!? Their owner considers Moruinho to be the worst manager in their history so I'm not sure what your point it. Just to clarify the Real Madrid comment Carheex. What I meant was that Real had no manager and RB was free, yet they did not consider him. I agree that RB is a good manager, but definitely not as good as you think he is, ie, the best manager around, even responsible to bring Suarez to LFC...7 months after he had left.

Just because Real Madrid doesn't offer someone the manager's job, it doesn't mean that person isn't top notch. It just menas the owner has a preference (for any number of reasons) for someone else. RB not going to Madrid tells us nothing at all.
But more importantly, Benitez had agreed to join Napoli before Mourinho had even left Madrid, so he wasn't even available!!!!

More rumours in the Suarez saga:
"Yesterday it emerged rumors (Marca) that Luis Suarez - and the player's agent - had already started up negotiations with Real Madrid about the personal details of a possible signing. As a result, Liverpool are now demanding talks with Suarez and his representatives as soon as possible.
Luis Suarez and his Uruguay lost yesterday semifinals of the Confederations Cup against Brazil 2-1, after Paulinho nodded in the winning goal with just over five minutes left to play.
Meanwhile, it emerged, however, reports in the Spanish newspaper Marca - which has a close relationship with Real Madrid - that El Pistolero has already had contract negotiations with the "Meringues".
If it turns out that the allegations are true, Suarez and his representatives have committed breach of contract - where it clearly appears that no discussion shall be taken with players before the clubs have agreed terms.
Liverpool have neither received a bid from Real Madrid nor a Transfer Request from Luis Suarez, and LFC therefore call for the urgent opportunity for a meeting so that rumors can be sorted out.
Suarez will play in Sunday's bronze match in the Confederations Cup - and then probably have between 3-4 weeks of vacation, which the players always have a right to. However, we can expect that representatives from both Liverpool and Suarez to meet before the player is back, and this bad smelling soup can be sorted out as soon as possible."
Since this is taken from Marca, I have not much faith in what's written. But at the same time you can't help but wonder how much smoke there can be without a fire!

"The Marca" 'reported yesterday that Suarez was in discussions with the La Liga champions, real madrid!!!! If 'the marca' were that close to the club then they would have known that Barcelona are the league champions!!!

Marca are very close to Madrid and are effectively used as either propoganda or certainly there to unsettle players at other clubs, this gives Madrid the upper hand in negotiations. Nothing new here, the only stat i heard which is viable is that any player who has appeared on the front of Marca(linked with Madrid) has always signed. So far this summer the only player to do so is Bale. Cavani and Suarez are so far inside

But Ancelotti was available according to you, even if he was still under contract with PSG!!!!! Plain truth is that he was not welcome at Real Madrid, was sacked at Inter and his contract was not renewed a Chelsea, 3 great clubs. He is a very good manager for sure, but not better than Mourinho, Guardiola, Ancelotti, Capello, Ferguson and probably Wenger and Jupp Heinkes in my books, but, I know, you think he is the best. This is where we disagree.

I've never said that - I just happen to think he's a lot better than people give him credit for. guardiola, capello, wenger, pellegrini, klopp, rodgers, conte, heinckes and many more were also overlooked for the madrid job.......it doesn't make them bad managers.
