It was more the "getting" than the "scouting" that impressed me

Nope, am with Faz here for once, it was in fact Roy who scouted Suarez and apparantely of all men to give the recommendation to him the man to give it was none other than Steve McClaren, but like Faz i have no link to this at the moment and could be hear say, but i doubt Rafa had much to do with it

Yep i know that Faz, just hard for some to believe i think, i do know that McClaren 100% recommended Suarez to a handful of English clubs around the time as he said it on SS one night think it was on the Footballers Football Show not to sure, but i know Roy had alot more to do with it than people want to believe

It's common knowledge around my way that it was Benitez - he went after Suarez to partner Torres who said that we need more quality players or he'd consider his future. Torres was happy that RB had started the ball rolling with Suarez but then roy arrived and the 'quality players' that were being brought in to keep torres happy were the likes Poulsen & Konchesky. The final nail in the coffin for Torres was when Dalglish came back. Had we stuck with Benitez we'd have suarez & torres upfront and there would have been no carroll, downing, henderson, adam, koncheksy, poulsen or joe cole. If you don't like it I can't help you, 'but it's there'.
