Glad he's staying too, can't really blame him for wanting Barca.still need a backup keeper though imo.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Yeah I'd agree with that. I don't think Peter Gulacsi is going to be good enough to be honest.

Begovic by a million miles. Can't believe more people have actually voted for Mignolet! If we're talking about signing one as back-up to Pepe, then Mignolet, because he'd probably be more prepared to sit on the bench than Begovic.

It looks like Pepe is staying now anyway, though. So I wouldn't expect either of them to be signed.

I voted Begovic because he is marginally better than Mignolet. Both are good options in goal though, and if I were Rodgers, I would much rather spend £7m on Mignolet than double that on Begovic. As I say, Begovic is the better keeper right now, but thats not to say that he would happily grace our bench if Reina is to stay this season. Mignolet, on the other hand, might.

Those quotes only say that there has been no contact and that he cannot comment further. There is no denial of him being open to a move to Barca. In all honesty, the article neither dampens the rumour or adds fire to it.

For me to be convinced he would have to say, "i want to stay at Liverpool and am categorically not interested in going to barcelona". But he doesn't. He chooses to say that there has been no contact.......in my mind, that is most definitely leaving the door open...

Yeah Lain, that's right. I saw the interview with him. He said he has 3 years left on his contract with Liverpool, and he wants to look into extending it further. I thought it was common knowledge at this stage.

It's clear that he was going to be off to Barca if they came in for him as expected, to replace Valdés. Valdés has announced he's going to stay another year to see out his contract with them though, so they're not in the market for a keeper anymore, closing the door for Pepe to go back there.
