Last week we were strongly linked with Begovic - he even said himself that he was coming. Today we are linked with Mignolet. Although I don't watch either of their teams regularly enough to say how good/consistent that they really are, both appear to be amongst the best in the Prem. So who would you prefer if it was a straight choice between the two.....:

Seeing that Valdes has come out and said he will be staying at BArca, do you still think Reina will leave? No idea myself...

Valdes looks to be a pretty ordinary keeper (and that's generous!). I very much doubt Barca's supposed interest in Reina is down to the fear of losing Valdes!

Agreed. I think they are looking to upgrade their current gate keeper...

And I think Mignolet would be best, because Begovic is truly a big Lumber Jack, whereas Mignolet on the other hand seems to have some kind of style suitable for LFC.

Apparently their plan was to bring in two goal keepers this summer, Pepe Reina obviously being one of them. Now that Valdes claims to be staying, they're probably still after a keeper. That's what Guillem Balague was saying on talksport anyway.

Did any one see that Ter Stegen chaps gaff last night for Germany? Only mention it as we've been linked in the past.

And I'd keep Reina myself.

Pepe Reina has denied speculation he will return to Barcelona and has confirmed he would be open to extending his Liverpool contract.

Widespread reports have claimed that Reina is a target for Barcelona, if current No.1 Victor Valdes leaves the Spanish champions next summer.

However, Reina has stressed that he is happy at Anfield and has dismissed talk of a return to his first club as 'only rumours'.

"I have my own contract with Liverpool for three more years," said Reina. "Nothing has changed.

Reina quashes rumours

"If so, we want to make it bigger and my future is with Liverpool.

"Right now, about Barca, there are only rumours and only people talking about possibilities. There are no facts. I cannot talk further on that."

Valdes is currently expected to leave Barcelona in 2014 when his contract expires and Reina respects his fellow Spain international's position.

Reina added: "Victor has said he will not move from Barcelona and wants to fulfil his contract, and that must be respected."

I don't know about the rest of you but I see this as good news, I knew Reina makes the odd mistake but I like him as a goalkeeper and think he's a good influence on the squad. Shame he has only come out and said that after Valdes decided to stay on another year at Barcelona but I'm very happy that Pepe is staying.
