the excuses about the referees are pathetic. last night gerrard and kuyt both dived to win that last minute free kick. if that's all we have to relay on to be able to score ...no wonder we're in tis mess. and rafa's lame excuses after were a disgrace

it was only outside the area because fabregas moved forward, if you look at the rest of the wall they are on the line and on the line is inside which means pen!!

Sorry guys the subject is not how we played the other night (personally i think we weren't great an arse prob deserved the win) but more the overall standard of reffing in the prem - i can't remember a single match this season where there hasn't been controversy, these guys are totally and utterly incompetant without exceptions - surely now is the time to both up the retirement age of refs and bring in tennis style "video challenges" where a team has....say three challenges per half. ireland aren't at the world cup this year because of this!
