Would prefer Wigan to stay up instead of Sunderland simply for their style of play, so reluctantly the spuds. Next year will be a real test for AVB to show this year hasn't been a fluke.

I hope spuds nick it cos I'd love to see how arsenal will cope without CL money.

Bale will leave regardless whether there is CL football.

It will be our best chance to leapfrog these 2 teams next season.

You've got that the wrong way round in my opinion. If Spurs get CL there is a chance they will keep bale, plus they will spend more money as they have more money, and AVB will buy some good players. If arsenal don't get top 4 they will spend the exact same amount on players as they are financially secure. Similarly, Arsenal will attract top(ish) players no matter what, spurs will need to get CL to attract some of the bigger ones.

As a fan of Liverpool who will hopefully be competing for a top 4 spot, it would definitely be better for arsenal to get 4th over spurs.

on twitter the story is if chelsea and everton draw 0-0 and the arse win 2-1 the goal difference is exactly equal and there could be a play off for 3rd and 4th becase 3rd goes right into the group stages .

Anyone fancy a Chelsea v Arsenal play-off for third place? Rulebook-reading colleague insists it's possible, depending on Sunday's scores

I'm not sure it's possible, if the rules are like those at the world cup and euros, then a head to head comparison comes into play.

It is possible, there are a few things that come in to play but if those scores occur on the final day, the afore mentioned things will all be even and a post season play off game will occur for 3rd place.

I think in the EPL a lot of other factors are considered before any replay, after goal difference it would be probably goals scored, then probably head to head result.

arsenal are already in decline imo so i'd rather see them make it than spurs. if spurs get there it will only make them stronger. with the finances the champions league brings who knows spurs could even end up being a 2 man team next season. scary thought.

Correction, just heard it on Skysports, head to head result doesn't count, it would be playoff if goals scored is the same.

I dislike Tottenham as they always seem to escape criticism for buying success. If FFP is ever implemented they will be in major trouble... just look at their transfer dealings in the last 6 years and measure them, along with players wages, against their home attendances/off-field revenue. WTF?!
