Back when we were first linked to Sturridge, myself and only a handful of others were very optimistic and pleased that we might be getting him. Between the time we were first linked and the time we actually signed him a LOT of people were openly saying that he's no good, over-priced, over rated, miserable, selfish, sulky etc.
So.......to those who weren't happy about us singing him initially, have you changed your minds, do you think the jury is still out, or regardless of any evidence do you still think he's a selfish sulker that will ruin morale at the club?

With 10 goals and 5 assists from 13 games he can 'sulk' as much as he likes!

better than expected. jury still out though. lets see what he is like when we need him early next season. has had a few non event games and poor moments.

I don't think I ever had a strong opinion on Danny, I always thought his stats of when he did actually play we're decent, but he's done very well. Yeah, sometimes he can be selfish, but he's a striker and has shown at other times that he's not.

Him and Coutinho are the best purchases we've had since maybe 2007 when we bought Torres, Lucas and Mascherano during the season. I think they were 2 very good pieces of business.

When we were linked with him, I never had any issues about his attitude or anything like that, I think we know who started those claims. I will hold my hand and admit I said I didn't think he was good enough, I didn't think he could improve us. I am more than happy to admit I was very Wrong because his contribution in half a season since coming in is good enough to improve us even if it was spread out over an entire season.

he was invisible against everton and scored a hatrick gainst crappy fulham. its next season b4 he can be properly judged but he is a better player than I thought he was. still waiting for a big sulk moment - u can tell he has it in him

I was always of the opinion he was a good buy for us and for ~£12m, I really think we got a great deal, I thought that at the time we bought him as well. He is never going to be as prolific as someone like Suarez, but he is definitely a good finisher, and if he's got Some of the control and composure he showed yesterday, especially for his first, were outstanding.

I don't care that it was 'crappy' Fulham, and maybe neither team had much to play for, but we still won, and Sturridge still got a hat-trick away from home.

He also scored against some not so crappy teams from Manchester and London.... I think you are waiting for an " I told you so moment" but it ain't coming!

Why can't he be judged now?? And what makes you think he has a 'big sulk' in him - has he had them before?

I'll admit I had my doubts about him being selfish and a sulky player.

I did say back when we signed him that 10 goals would be a good start and would go some way to change my opinion of him.

Yeah when he's good, He's very good. But does suffer from spells of inconsistency still.

I'd give him a solid 8 out of 10 which is very good.

Let's see how he does with a full pre-season under his belt.

Whoever it was that said those 2 signings Sturridge and Coutinho are our best since 2007. I totally agree. They have both came in made an impact and hopefully will only get better.

With the latest developments on the blue side of town and the red half of manchester going down in the last week it certainly makes things that much more interesting moving forward.

Although I'd rather fans focus on our side of the pitch and not whats going on elsewhere.

Great result yesterday without Suarez, Gerrard and Agger. Let's not get carried away though. Both teams had nothing to play for.
