De Gea - pretty poor
Those brazilians full backs - nothing special
evra - good but getting on a bit
Vidic - good but injury prone and inconsistent
ferdinand - fitness issues, inconsistent and career near it's end
kagawa - very unimpressive so far
scholes - already retired once so no spring chicken
giggs - no spring chicken - he won't be getting any better
van persie - very good but won't be getting better at his age - limited time left
rooney - most over rated player in europe - never lived up to his achievement
carrick - decent but nothing special
valencia - see carrick
nani - see carrick but massively inconsistent
anderson - laughable
hernandez - good finisher but not much else
evans - nothing
jones - good
smalling - good
welbeck - average
young - good but inconsistent

......he is leaving the club with it's worst squad for quite a long time. in my opinion.

Couldn't agree more. It's what makes it even harder to take. One thing is for sure. Whoever takes over is on a hiding to nothing.

I wouldn't say it's 'the worst in a long time'...it's not brilliant, but what they do have though is a good mix of experience and young talent. You look at people like Welbeck, Smalling, Jones, Hernandez, De Gea (who I think has massively improved in the 2nd half of the season)..they're all established international's under the age of 24. Most of our under-24's aren't anywhere near that standard.

Zaha arriving in the summer, maybe Lewandowski..they will still be a top side even after Fergie's gone.

still think he'll still have a say in some way or another. They might appoint a YES MAN.

Why? any player-by-player comparison is totally irrelevant. My point, in case anyone missed it, is that Utd are a success primarily because of Ferguson. No other manager that has ever lived could make winners from such ordinary players.

jez they ain't that bad . they won the league without breaking sweat. sure chelsea and city have much better squads but they don't have van persie or even a vidic.

Pay attention EMP ffs! MY POINT IS THAT THEIR MANAGER IS THE REASON FOR THEIR SUCCESS, REGARDLESS OF THE SQUAD!!!!! Jesus effing christ!

On paper, or with any other premier league manager, the current squad would have struggled to get in the top 4. There's no point in arguing that their players must be good because they won the league!
