lol..benitez never had a clue who he was signing, it was scouts. he thought we signed kaka mk2 when we bought lucas.
a fat turd dossenna? rafa loved his sissokko masceranho types so he prob knew about them..the rest were just conveyor belt foreigners brought in by scouts.. 1m on some foreign kid here 4m there. who knows who cares

I feel that Coutinho was a brilliant buy, he is just the type of player that liverpool fc has been lacking these past few season. He has the ability to take people on, he works hard, his positioning and movement off the ball is really impressive. We need to sign more players who can dribble, a john barnes, steve mcmanaman.. Players with pace, and I am certain that we will be able to challenge for a champions league spot next season.

Coutinho is fantastic and has been from day one. None of this "getting used to the pace/physicality of the English game" for him! Love the guy, hasn't put in a mediocre performance yet and I suspect he never will. True class shines whatever the weather and Philippe is a supernova!

Not sure who instigated the transfer but he arrived at Inter whilst Benitey was in charge and Coutinho has come out on several occassions and said that he owes a lot to Benitey because he was the first to give him a chance. Either way, Rafa wanted to bring Coutinho to Liverpool whilst he was manager here, a long long time ago.
