cause we hammered them ,beat city ,beat arsenal, beat chelsea. put us back into europe ,played two show piece cup finals in a season. but hey thats not quick enough lets get a group mentality manager in instead ,sign fabio borini and ask man u how to run the club...yes fergie has got his way...idiot fans that called for kenny to leave the blame is on u fools.

That's a very naive, simple, one-eyed way of looking at things. Individual results along the way mean very little indeed, otherwise you could just as easily argue that Fergie was delighted that kenny was our manager when we lost to fulham (twice), west brom, wigan, qpr (when we were 2-0 up with 10mins to play), sunderland, bolton and stoke all in the same season that we 'battered' Utd.

All that matters is that Utd finished last season 37 points ahead of us, so claims that Fergie was worried about Dalglish are way off the mark - especially when you consider that the season before we only finished 22 points behind Utd. Whether you look at it in terms of league placings, or total points, we were miles behind Utd and kenny was taking us even further away from them.

ur wrong and everyone knows ur wrong , u prob even know it urself.
we stopped playig in the league after the unlucky arsenal defeat. last seasons league campaign should have been jsut put off as one of those weird ones. we played well, rascist thing ,lucas injury, missed chances, and concentrating on two cups meant we fell away towards the end...but we were a whole load better than we are now. a whole load. and everyone knows that so stop being a stat man. 2 cup finals ,back in europe and capable of beating any team in the league, with the prospect of diame coming and more....

i firmly believe we would have made top 4 easy. yes easy ..and maybe even a title shot....knee jerking fools allowed fsg to implement what was a cost cutting PR exercise .

So what if we sign a new manager and finish 8th next season? or 7th? or even 6th? coz I can't see us going higher than that in the near future.. Do we sack him?? A new manager every season or so? Is that the way forward? I don't know if Brendan will be up to the job or not but the only way to know that is by giving him -or any other manager for that matter- enough tome to prove or disprove himself

We should give him 12 games next season and if we do not get an average of at least 1.8 pts per game, he should be replaced by a trophy winning manager, we should take any chances again. 12 games so that the new manager gets sufficient time to know who to replace/buy in the Jan transfer window.

Agree Stan it is all his fault, the FA didn,t bite any body. However i think they punished the man rather than the offence.I was expecting 7.To add I agree with Growler that he may just bugger off, despite his actions he hasn't been given a fair rub of the green by the Fa.I know it's probably a bit paranoid but has anyone been whispering in their ear.I haven't heard any comments by Fergie yet

Works and has worked for Chelsea, Barca, Madrid, Milan, Inter, PSG, Santos, Cornintians etc over the years why shouldn't we give it a go? We can get gnp to manage us for a year to get us settled and he'll bring in Reus, Lewandowski, Lahm, M'vila etc, top man

JH was 16, JE 5, LS 23 so I would say not more than 110. Out were FT, MB, AA and a number of other younger players for lets say 65 m. So 45m of net spend over 2 seasons or if you prefer 1.5 seasons. Makes no sense to talk about gross spent because it would mean nothing if tomorrow we sold our whole team say for 75m, gave that money to the BR to spend and say that he had 125m to spend (75 plus the 50 he has already spent since he has been around).

Fergie was quite annoyed when we kicked them out of the FA cup though, or you dispute this also.

I have simply stated facts. I suppose they are 'wrong' as well are they? The only 'stats' I have used are points on the table - how can you possibly dispute them?! Oh yeah, apparently we 'stopped playing' after an 'unlucky' defeat - silly me. LFC fans have gotten a bit of a bad rep in the last few years and it's because of people like you who won't accept the truth, ignore the facts, and try to put everything down to bad luck. Embarassing stuff.

I doubt he was overjoyed but he was far more concerned about the run in with city for the league title. Even though we knocked them out of the cup, it in no way suggests that Fergie was worried about Dalglish's reign on the whole. As I said before, we finished 37 points behind Utd - Cause for Utd to be concerned??? I don't think so - they weren't exactly looking over their shoulder at us - we were closer to Wolves than Utd in terms of points!!
