Agree, and KD only had a net spend of 25m per season, so if anything, he did not put LFC into bankrupcy. In any case, BR is still playing 3 of his signings regularly, having sold one (Adam) without a huge loss and Caroll is on loan doing ok when fit at WH (better than Borini for sure).

So who else can BR play? He wasn't given as much money that Dalglish wasted to get rid of all the crap he bought. He didn't sell Carroll because who else is stupid enough to pay double figures and the his wages?

Net spend or not, Dalglish wasted nearly £100m on crap. That is in no small part why we're in the state we are.

If at least BR played the players he bought. He did start by playing Borini and Allen, but, eventually played KD's signings such as Hendo and Downing. Assaidi also played at the beginning, but not much after that. It's true that he is playing his winter signings much more, though. In any case, I don't feel there has been much of an improvement over last season, if any. Hopefully, it would be better next season.

BR did play Alen and Borini, probably more than he should have. Since they got injured, he has had to play who ever he can.

I don't think Dalglish ruined the club though. He certainly set us back a bit. Spanking all that money on (mostly) crap has made FSG tighten up so Rodgers has to shop in the bargain bin. It would have been interesting to see the type of player that Rodgers would spend £35m on. I bet it'd be someone much much better than carroll.

I've got reservations about how BR would spend big money. Smalltime managers are usually comfortable within their zone - BR's signings so far have been what you would expect from a Swansea manager, or a club of that size. If he thinks that joe allen is worth 'a lot more than £15m', then i dread to think what he'd buy for £30m!

I think his January transfers showed a far greater understanding of what players are capable of lifting us up a level. It will be interesting to see how he gets on in the summer window now.

I think Buck will start to come good next year and we should start making progress with some defensive improvements and another striker. A comfortable top 6 finish would be a start along with a (any) Cup. Top 4 will only happen if FSG dig deep.

By all accounts this was not a vintage Premiership season and we're still doomed to 7th! Any visions of breaking top 4 next season need to be backed up with cash we just don't have.

What is destroying LFC is not KK or BR or FSG, but rather, this constant looking back and playing the blame game. We need to look forward and improve, change with times and adapt, not dwell on the past.

It doesn't matter who is the person who negotiated the fee. Blaming Commoli is pointless.

Dalsglish was manager and was and should have been a true custodian and obligated to see things done right.

If Commoli was to blame for sanctioning the costs involved, there would have been time enough for Kenny to see the prices negotiated and cancel them.

Either way, he allowed Carroll to be signed for that obscene amount as well as the rest of the overspending on players.

Follow the follwing scenario:

- You are Liverpool Manager.
- You want Andy Carroll as a striker for your team and future plans.
- Your club negotiates a fee of £35m for him.

Do you A) Crack on and let YOUR club and team pay those amounts?

B) Walk away and find alternative targets

I think we all know the answer!

In the summer that followed we spent nearly 70m on Downing, Henderson and Adam.

I hated all three transfers at the time simply down to the fact that they were simply not worth the money.

We were mugged. Custodian Kenny should not have bought these players at that total combined cost.

There were better players available at the time for that amount of Cash.

If he had spent 30m on that trio then I wouldn't be moaning as you get what you pay for!

yeah well there is no point going back to the hillsborough era and pointing blame that was a severe traumatic event.

he recent stint wasn't given long enough to develop . he got us back into europe and a trophy. he got good staff in with him and we were improving. he couldn't sign the players he wanted and yes overspent. but carroll was a rush job cause of torres and is a good player just didn't work out. hendo is fairly crap alright probably worth 4m if even. adam was poor and downing has quality. i firmly believe if given this season kenny would have had a title shot.

same with blackburn ..poor 1st season. title contenders next. needed time.
