Jj why the hell would u sell Reina and then buy 2 keepers? The priority right now is not a keeper we have Pepe and Jones for back up that will have to do until next summer or later as for now we have to improve our defensive line with 2 players at least, another midfield player and maybe a winger too if we offload Assaidi or Downing which i think could happen.

I never said it was a priority Phony. My reasons for thinking about selling Pepe are clear. He has not been as consistent, or as competent in goal for a number of years. I think he was and still is a very good keeper. I suggested, that there could be value in the window for two keepers that could come in for £10m or so. As a manager, you look at your priorities, but if there is an option to buy two keepers you feel are comparable to the guy you already have, and be able to sign both if you sell the one you have, then its worth considering. Does that make sense? I am NOT saying lets just sell him to the first buyer and struggle to replace him. I am saying see if there are two keepers worthy of being Liverpool's number 1 that are both available, then you would consider selling 1 great keeper, for 2 great keepers that can compete for being first-choice.

1) Suarez (by a mile)
2) Coutinho (Cracking little player - goes missing sometimes but still can produce even when not on song)
3) Sterling (Decent for a real breakthrough season and his age!)

Flops:

1) Allen - No question. No doubt.
2) Skrtel - From lofty heights to binned
3) Shelvey - I really rated him last year and he looked like he was gonna push on but before and after that Man U game he was displaying proper 'chicken head' football. Shame cos there is a really good player in there.

That's mine!

Interested to see yours!

No think Allen is a top player. How quickly some forget frown

You think allen is a top player and your username supports a total joke of a player. Are you on this forum for a wind-up?

some not mentioned

top

Carragher - end it pushing around the best of them
Wisdom - very good considering age pretty consistient too
Jones - came in short notice n played solid
Henderson - broke through

bottom

Reina - not playing to his ability(not a selling point yet)
Coates - didnt take any of his chance but i think need a loan in future.
Assaidi - where is he???????????

selling Reina to bring in 2 not bad idea but i think we would have to have one come in first.plus the price of reina wouild have to be hefty hefty hefty. oo i also think shelvey is good for the team(he needs loan too). Allen I dont know what to say about him. maybe we overpayed but i kinda have mixed feelings good bad who knows. we will see next season. borini has let down in the begining than got injured cant say much very little playing time.

Its going to be one of those tough windows. We'd like to think we could turn out some under-performing or ill-quality players for some quality and seems easy on paper but so often it won't happen like that.

Spearing could leave for a couple of million. Diame could come in for £4m. Diame would likely be on higher wages too.

Skrtel could leave for £12m and release some of his wages for Diame's deal. Alderweireld could come in for close to £10m, and would likely make up the rest of Skrtels wages.

We could sell Carroll to West Ham for £10m, and bring in Remy for the same fee. Remy may come in for marginally less wages that his counterpart. OR we could sign Honda for a smaller fee this summer (his deal runs out in December) on not too dissimilar wages too. My preference, would be a cheeky bid for Benteke if they indeed go down instead of Wigan.

I still think we could sell Reina £20m to Barca, and bring in Vorm and Begovic as replacements at £8m and £12m. And likely, these wages would make up Reina's £100k a week or so.

That would still leave the club with all the money given to BR in the summer, and no higher wages than currently on the books, with a left-back and a centre-half still on the agenda.

As much as I suggest all this, the likelihood is that we won't see anywhere near this much activity, or any of the names mentioned, but its food for thought for Rodgers that he could make a real stand against those players under-performing, and really make an impact on the squad this summer. In the hope that he will, I am excited for it.

Agreed Carheex,

Trying to have a serious debate/discussion.

Its not always about trying to be the funny guy.

How anyone on Earth could say that about Allen without using a sarcastic emoticon is beyond me.

..and then yesterday happened - he somehow put in a performance far below even his own pitifully weak standards. Luckily for him, other events have overshadowed is inability to play football.
