Pete: Berg, I'm just not cut out to be a good person.
Berg: I know. That's why the Lord gave us good looks.

I am not arguing against myself And i most certainly am not for high ticket prices but I am all for maximizing income. If LFC were winning trophies on a regular basis, most would have no problem with the ticket prices. What I am trying to do is get everyone behind the team and manager, to be the 12th man and do OUR BIT towards helping the team win trophies. I don't see how we can ask the team to give it their all if we aren't willing to do the same.

The fact is that we can do more as fans, buy we aren't. I want to change that and if I manage to motivate only 5 people, well it's 5 people more than before. It's a start. But help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

We all want what's best for the club.

Marko you could try to improve the mood on here but the match going fan is an entirely different beast to what they once were. With good and bad as we saw yesterday with a throwback to the 80's.

The winning and top teams all have extortionate amount of money behind them to make them win. Every team has to buy to win , some are more fortunate than others, with what we have now we are not good enough to get in the top four. We need money to buy the better class players, to have a larger stadium,FSG don't have the money, that's why the begging bowls have been searching for a sugar daddy to foot the costs of stadium extensions etc. FSG must sell up surely , knowing that our club is out of their depth, to get us to the top again , So FSG sell up take your profit and return to your RED SOX !!!!!!!

Good post bro.

Agree with the patience sentiment. We all get fed up with when games that we should realistically win, don't go to plan.

Reading away is a 9/10 banker on any given day. It sucks that we drew. But oh well........

There have been plenty of performances that have been poor this season (mostly in the first half of the season) but plenty that I have really enjoyed.

As a first season goes, I feel we have improved slightly and more importantly, found an identity of playing that was lacking under KK and RH.

As you say, BR has been learning about the job of being the manager of a club that is burdened like no other (burdened because of our previous might and current standing). He has been learning about players that we have and formulating a long term plan.

Definitely agree with the Carra sentiment. Skrtel was shocking and so many other managers would have stayed with 37 in the side and plodded on but he was bold.

I'll be glad to see him moved on in the summer and a better player brought in. Even if it is Ash Williams, it will still be an improvement on Skittles and if anything, will probably not cost us anything as (for some strange reason) Skittles holds a transfer value of approx 10-12m which will cover the cost of any incoming CB.

We've also got to remember that as a team, we have probably brought on the highest number of young players in the league, bar Villa, and those players will hold us in good stead as early as next season.

Wisdom, Sterling have been excellent most of the times they played. Suso was decent also. Kelly (who I am a massive fan of) will be back properly next season and will keep Johnson on his toes or more than likely could oust him from RB as well as providing quality cover at CB too.

So I think it has been a campaign of mixed fortunes but the direction of the ship has definitely been set in a forward motion.

As for Coutinho..... what a player! He looks very special and a snip at 8m. Yes, he will be ineffective in a few games but he is a genuine game changer and another signing of his quality or better will ramp up our midfield further.

To be honest, every player we are linked with under BR I am happy with.

Saw that we were linked with Richards in the media today. Get him fit and that's a colossus in every sense of the word. He was destroying teams from RB position last season for City. Ince (face-smack for letting him leave although not entirely the clubs fault) would be great too. In a lesser league the lad is scoring freely from Midfield. You can see by the way he strikes the ball that the lad is class and would bag 7-8 quite comfortably in the Prem, something which Downing just isn't gonna do on a regular basis.

Would love to see us grab Eriksen, Ince and a decent Centre Back this summer as well as a change of keeper. Pepe is on his way back to his best form but something just doesn't sit comfortably with him anymore.

Grab Begovic from Stoke and flog Reina and that transfer will more or less pay for itself also, like Skrtel's replacement.

With not so much of a massive outlay 20-30m we could improve the squad AND first team in my opinion.

Here's what I'd do:

Outs:

Reina 10-12m
Skrtel 10-12m
Downing 6-7m
Carroll 12-15m

Ins:

Begovic 12-14m
Ince 7-8m
Eriksen 18-20m
Williams (8-9m) or Richards 12m

And lineup my team as follows:

Begovic

Johnson New CB Agger Enrique

Lucas
Gerrard

Eriksen
Suarez Coutinho
Sturridge

Subs:

Jones/Gulacsi
Kelly
Wisdom
Allen
Sterling
Henderson
Ince
Suso
Borini

We'd still need a bit more in terms of another CB and a LB to replace or rival Enrique but with the inevitable departure of Carroll and maybe Downing than this cost would be offset by their departures.

Now, the lineup I suggested would be an improvement in my eyes and place more responsibility to our quality young players. Think that it would definitely provide more goals and the squad 'gelling' of players like Coutinho and Sturridge would reap more dividends in their 2nd seasons.

Obviously, that 1st team is full of our most potent threats. But some games the team could be rotated to allow players like Coutinho/Ince/Eriksen to be the main impact player. And if Henderson can crank it up then may SG can take a break in certain games and strengthen the bench further as he gets older.

LOL............... Sorry lads. This started out as a 5-6 sentence reply but I got a bit carried away!

Either way, lets keep the faith and see what the summer recruitment brings as that is truly the time to reflect and gauge where we'll be next season.
