We'd finish 2 places better than last season, above Everton, and we'd get a Europa spot, provided Chelsea win the FA cup. Don't think this is correct. The FA cup runners-up would get it. Ridiculous scenario. No team should win a place in europe by losing a cup final! Some kind of playoff should be brought in under these circusmtances. As for the league table. I think the top will stay as it is now, although I have a sneaky feeling that chelsea might pip City to the runners up spot. I don't know why I feel that your sneaky feeling is due to Rafa managing the club. If that does happen, it will really confirm the quality of Rafa, however, if they are off 4th, it would say to me that Rafa has lost it, anything in the middle will be just as expected, nothing great.

Finishing 2nd with Chelsea would prove beyond any doubt that Benitez is a phenomenal manager. Even 3rd would be say a great deal when you look where RDM and AVB got them in the league. That said, if chelsea finished 3rd, 4th or even 5th this year it wouldn't in any way suggest that RB has lost it. If people are allowing 2 years for Rodgers to 'settle in' then why, under extremely negative circumstances, should Benitez be expected to perform miracles in just 6 months?

A good manager doesn't need time to start the improvement, RDM did very well when he took over, he was given the job because of his achievements which was almost immediate.

Di Matteo had Chelsea in 3rd when he was sacked. He was also only 4 points off Utd. That gap is now 19 points. In that same time both Chelsea and Liverpool have amassed 34 points with Chelsea having played 1 game less.

Really, have both LFC and Chelsea amassed the same number of pts since the appointment of Rafa? Quite disappointing from such a great manager I would say. Looks like RDM was doing better, isn't it? Better to see the outcome at the end of the season though, Chelsea can still finish with 2 trophies almost as good as RDM last season
