Rafael Benitez has today rubbished further press speculation linking him with a move to Serie A side Juventus.

"Contrary to reports in the Italian media this weekend, I want to make it absolutely clear I have no agreement with Juventus and have not and will not be meeting Juventus or their representatives or any other club," said the Liverpool manager.

"I have a long term contract with Liverpool and I'll repeat what I said on Friday that I am happy here and my only focus is to do my job as well as I can to get the team back into to the top four, beginning with the derby against Everton." Whats your thoughts on this ?

Something had to said officially as the speculation has been rife since the middle of last week and hasn't be helped by Rafa's little side steps during interviews and that funny little grin and wink he does to whatever bloody interviewer is posing the difficult question! I should think people "upstairs" have pushed him to make a statement as he hasn't killed the speculation himself. I think he's playing politics with the board again i.e pull your fingers out and find me some decent loot to spend this summer or else...

Could be he has been using his contacts in football to start this rumour. That way he gets to show the world and the yanks, that he is not in need of liverpool. Hopefully put pressure on the yanks and stir up some RAFA RAFA RAFA chanting at anfield.

Great news if it's true. Would be sad if we let Rafa go.

I'm still in the pro Rafa camp. He's the man who brought us Istanbul. For that alone he deserves a little more respect than he's been shown at the moment. The work that both him and his wife do within the community deserves a lot more respect as well. When people call him the waiter it really gets under my skin. The lack of respect is just bang out of order. The man's made mistakes yes but ffs grow up.!!!!

I agree Murph that he needs to be shown more respect than what he's been getting lately. Whilst he has been very frustrating with team selections and some of his purchases we have won two major trophies and were runner up last season in the Prem with him in charge!!

Ceb if you've ever taken any time to read any of my previous 890 something posts you'll find that I've always been a fan of Rafa.
